Benedictine and Bishop Ireton entered Saturday's matchup as the #1 and #2 ranked teams in the latest VISAA D1 ratings. The Cadets will maintain there top ranking after defeating the Cardinal 39-26. Ramon Jones scored three rushing touchdowns and finished with 211 yard rushing for the Cadets.

The Cadets led 8-0 at halftime after a 4-yard touchdown run by Jones and a safety by Mikey McDonald. An 85-yard touchdown run by Jones early in the 4th quarter gave Benedictine a two touchdown advantage 29-15

The Cardinal scored twice in the final five minutes including a touchdown pass from quarterback Joe Dickenson to Sam Smith that made the score 29-26. Bishop Ireton received the ball one final time but McDonald and Thomas Dunn forced a fumble on a sack to end the threat.
