The two powerhouse local softball teams (and certainly two of the best in the state) Rappahannock and Northumberland will battle it out next week in a highly anticipated contest.
Rapp is 8-2 overall (only losses to much larger class teams). Rapp has outscored the local teams 58-6.
Northumberland is also 8-2 overall (only losses to bigger schools). Northumberland has outscored the local teams 59-3.
Both teams opened up NND play yesterday, demolishing the opponents - Rapp over LHS 15-2 - Northumberland over Essex 17-1.
The Battle is on April 18th (right before Easter Break) at Northumberland - it was wild last year.
There are games in between that the coaches need to worry about but the fans can look forward to this one.
