Can winner of LCA Heritage game stay within 14 of LB ?

I had a person whose opinion I respect say he thought LB 4 touchdowns better than either Heritage or LCA.

It's funny because I saw these same types of posts of people saying the same things about Mason Overstreet and Staunton River before got knocked off by a hot Blacksburg team a couple of years ago. Anybody can be beaten on any given day. I also remember some people on here saying that Heritage was going to destroy Phoebus in the State Championship because they were so much bigger and had come off a win over Botty. Heritage was up 17-0 and the Phantoms nearly pulled that game out but couldn't convert on a late 4th down and lost 24-20. I believe every team that made it this far should not be taken for granted.

I totally agree about the “anyone can be beaten on any given day.”

And with all due respect to LCA and Heritage - who both have outstanding teams.

But I did a little research....

Here’s a few of LB’s results this year - you can come to your own conclusions:

In the first game of the season defeated GW-Danville 70-7
GW - which is Class 4 - is currently 6-1 on the season, and faces Salem (7-0) in the Class 4 Region D finals.

In the second game beat William Fleming 49-6
Fleming - Class 5 - is 5-2 on the season - plays Mountain View in the Class 5 Region D finals.

In the 5th game beat Franklin County 57-7.
FC - Class 6 - lost in the Class 6 Region A semis to undefeated Thomas Dale 41-31.

The scores of their other games:

55-13 William Byrd
49-6 Staunton River

Northside forfeited their game against LB.

I watched them play Christiansburg last weekend - a 55-0 shellacking.

The team has quality players at skill positions - and both offensive/defensive lines are outstanding.

In my humble opinion, this years’s team could compete at any level in the state of Virginia.

Yep. Still amazed by that Blacksburg team. Came in playoffs 5-5 and won it all. Where is that running back at nowadays? I like Phoebus chances against anyone this year. Seen the LB team and they’re huge upfront...would be a great matchup.

I'm actually pulling for LCA here. My sons friend plays on the team.
The match up between the Rice and Givens would be epic for the area.

Overstreet is the starting RB for Emory and Henry now. He transferred from Richmond U where he got some playing time as a freshman. Still putting up big numbers running the football.

I believe Phoebus Fan was referring to Colt Beck from Blacksburg that joined the team when they were 4-5 and then won every game to the state championship. I think Beck ended up at Tech for track.

He was actually on a football scholarship and running track as well but kept getting hurt and gave up football eventually to just focus on track.

I definitely would not surprise me if LCA won this game. I also wouldn't put too much in the GW game. Even their fans said they were not ready to play football yet. LB still wins but not by that score

I mean GW didn't have access to their weight room for a significant amount of time. LB had no such restrictions. I think if GW and LB met up towards the end of the regular season it would have been a much different game.

In last night's game, LB played without standouts WR Kyle Arnholt and RB Hunter Rice

According to the Roanoke Times:

The Cavaliers (8-0) will host Liberty Christian next week in the VHSL Class 3 state semifinals. Coach Jamie Harless said that standout running back Hunter Rice will be back in action for that one, but Wade was impressive with Rice sidelined by a knee injury.

Wade toted the ball 33 times on Friday for 228 yards and two touchdowns.
