Visiting Caroline used a 27-11 second quarter scoring advantage to blow open a Battlefield District game at upset-minded King George, rolling over the Foxes 94-74.
The Cavaliers (14-2, 7-1) got 51 points from David Ware on a night where the senior eclipsed the 1,000-point milestone in his career. Ware poured in 32 of those points in the second half to help the road team increase its margin to as much as 23 points.
Mykai Smith added 20 points for Caroline, who travels to Chopticon (MD) for a nondistrict road game on Tuesday.
King George (3-13, 2-5) led 17-16 after a quarter and appeared keen on winning its third straight district game early on. The Foxes struggled against Caroline’s full court pressure and fast-paced offense, however, and could not maintain their brief advantage.
Senior Jaylen Stepney led KG with 30 points.
