Kyle Clanton scored 4 times as Central defeats George Mason in Fairfax 39-0 and prepares to visit Riverheads next week. Great game Falcons.
Maybe more.Definitely congrats to the Falcons but let me get the ball started... It will probably be close for a while but in the end it will be Riverheads over Central by 2 touchdowns.
Until the Madison game, I would have said you're crazy, but now I think you might be right. Then again, this matchup will look an awful lot like East Rock. We all know how the Gladiators did in that one.Definitely congrats to the Falcons but let me get the ball started... That was a long time ago and RHS has improved a ton.Until the Madison game, I would have said you're crazy, but now I think you might be right. Then again, this matchup will look an awful lot like East Rock. We all know how the Gladiators did in that one.
I agree Riverheads has improved a great deal, but that is a huge gap to close. They were thoroughly dominated on both sides of the ball against the Eagles. I would be surprised if the game against Central isn't close. I could go either way as to who will win, but I think Central has more depth and a more balanced offense. That was a long time ago and RHS has improved a ton.
Riverheads will do the same probably a game HR 6 will not want to attendIt will depend on Qb play and we will run it down hill all night long. 3 really good running backs and more speed than any team in the area.
Well not quite between the tackles like Riverheads wants to do. Lol. Central will slam it with Watson between tackles and run sweeps and end arounds with Clanton. Then PA and go up top.@chsfalcons, so between the tackles smash mouth football? Love that style of ball so it should be interesting.
Don't forget Noah Williams....he is getting better every week.Well not quite between the tackles like Riverheads wants to do. Lol. Central will slam it with Watson between tackles and run sweeps and end arounds with Clanton. Then PA and go up top.
He can play. No argument from me. Central needs a healthy Watson to compete in this game Friday. I like him a lot as a back. Not flashy whatsoever but is good. I say this as possessions will be at an all time premium. Riverheads will limit opposing teams possessions the same way Clarke/Giles etc. do when you play them.Don't forget Noah Williams....he is getting better every week.
I must be missing something here. Riverheads won their first 2 games 49 - 6 and 51 - 6 before running into East Rock. Their scores since losing have been very similar to the scores prior to losing to the Rock.
Why all the talk about how much better they are now versus prior to the loss? No love for ER or can someone explain the difference?
The Spotswood team has been on a winning streak since losing to ER and they have made similar claims. Looks like the proof is in the pudding to me but as I regularly state, I am an ER homer!
You make a good point. Riverheads is an excellent team and has been all season. East Rockingham though, might just be that much better and a nightmare matchup for the Gladiators.I must be missing something here. Riverheads made a few changes after the ER game. A lot of plays got ran down from behind against ER. They moved 42(FB) to TE. Put (24) at FB and made a couple of changes on the OL. I went to the ER game and not taking anything away from ER because they played well but Riverheads just looked flat in that game. Havent seen them play that way in quite a while not sure if it was because it was a Thur night game or what was going on. ER was definitely a better team that night but not 28-0 better.I must be missing something here. Riverheads won their first 2 games 49 - 6 and 51 - 6 before running into East Rock. I think if you look at the sum total of the assessment it would go like this. First ER was clearly the better team that night. Second, changes made by Riverheads during a season usually result in better line play and crisper execution of that offense. Third, it is my understanding that ER plays year round football so they were much further along in their progression as a team than RH and their execution showed that night. Fourth, there is no telling if they played again what would happen.
For me, I hope ER goes on to end the dynasty Appomattox has been building. If not I will still cheer for them as long as they are in the playoffs. I have tons of respect for what they did this year against the Red team.
Why is it hard to believe that two things happened at once, ER played a beautifully executed game against a team that may or may not have been where they are now. Before that gets challenged. Don’t anyone tell me that Gap is within 7 points of the team we played on a Thursday night in September cause I am not buying it.
Back to the original topic, Central is going to be a handful for the better part of Division 2 so they will and clearly should be favored against the Red team. With that said, I still give RH a punchers chance of taking the win. The atmosphere should be phenomenal and if they travel well then it should test both teams ability to focus when the games count more.
