Cheerleaders

What is the rule (if any) that covers where the cheerleaders can stand? More specifically are they allowed to be along the baseline during play and free throws?

Cheerleaders are supposed to be seated expect during 1 minute timeouts or the break between quarters and halftime. Very seldom enforced. As long as they move away when the paly is on their end of the floor,who really cares. Most guys think this is a deal for game management and not the refs.

i was at a game a couple yars ago where the home team was trailing by 1 with less than 5 seconds left. The home team had a player at FT line with chance to win the game by making both ends of a 1 and 1. the home team cheerleaders decided at this point to throw miniture basketballs into the stands. the fans forget all about the game and started acting stupid reacting to the balls thrown in the stands. this happened on the home end of the court. .......... the player missed the FT and team lost.
