Usually during the playoffs, realradio804.com will carry a game of Essex or other Northern Neck teams. Its gonna be interesting for sure. I have K&Q as a slight favorite with WP, Essex and W&L all right there. There should be some good football played this first round, can’t wait to hear all about it. Wasn’t there a radio station that used to carry games from the Neck a few years ago?
The muddiest game I can remember was Essex and Gretna from like 2009. Essex won 8-0 in some really brutal conditions@kwhs95fan, thank you, I thought someone did. I seem to remember listening to a muddy game out that way a couple of years ago. I honestly can’t remember which two teams were involved but it sounded like a mess to play in.
WP @ KW 3 years ago? Was a muddy mess. The muddiest game I can remember was Essex and Gretna from like 2009. Essex won 8-0 in some really brutal conditions
Oh okay. I forgot about that one. When I think about muddy games around here, that Essex and Gretna game immediately comes to mind. West Point and Altavista had a really muddy game in the state semi's in around 07 or 08, back when the Roane brothers were playing@NNDman, that’s it. Lots of speed bottled up in that mud. I thought Essex was one of the teams but I couldn’t think of the other one. Thanks
My sophomore season in 1992, KW played Franklin in a torrential downpour and won 54-52 in 4OT.Yes, that Gretna-Essex game was definitely a mudder in '09 with West Point and Altavista playing the same afternoon. I recall a Northumberland at Essex game in the 90s that was played in poor field conditions. Regular season finale. After the game, Northumberland players slid through the mud and dug divots on the field. The next week the field was still in bad shape and Middlesex was able to stay close, losing 13-6 after losing by about 4 TDs to Essex in the regular season. The following week, the field was still in rugged shape when Surry beat Essex for the regional title. One of the weirdest outcomes. Surry scored 5 TDs to Essex's 4, but Surry converted all 2 point conversions and Essex made just 1 PAT kick resulting in a 40-25 final.
Pretty sure it was 28 allWow! What was the score at the end of regulation?
