Churchland is my front runner to win C4. Got nice guard play, length and size. As good as Varina is, they have no toughness on the inside with Malachi Cosby graduated. I’m interested in seeing if Atlee is legit. They’ve had some good teams the past few years but have 💩’d the bed against Varina. None of those games have been even close to competitive. I like Monacan over Atlee. Lots of people are drinking the Powhatan kool aid. I haven’t seen them but I’ve had two head coaches in the Richmond area speak very highly of them.

We will really see what Atlee is made of when they play Varina. I will say-their comp has seemed somewhat impressive based solely on name brand. They have destroyed Henrico, Godwin, Dinwiddie, Bethel. Those are no pushovers.

I’m also curious about Powhatan, their district will certainly test them. 4B is a bloodbath with Monacan, Varina, Atlee, Eastern View, etc.

On the other side of the state I like Handley a lot but need to seem some more tough comp down the stretch. Good blowout against Huguenot and will play in the Spotswood tourney, some opportunities in the schedule but their district is very weak compared to the other top contenders (Churchland, Varina, Hampton, etc).

Need to watch more GW Danville film. Can never count them out, might be one of those years down 29 but their district also won’t test them too much. C4 is very strong.

Handley and GW…a classic hoops rivalry four hours apart. Good news is because of the 4D North/South split those two wouldn’t meet until the regional final. Charlottesville will be Handley’s toughest comp in the north, they are small but very gritty and well coached and will get better as the season goes on. Glass as you said will be Danville’s toughest comp in the south.

Didn’t realize the very solid non District opponents GW has coming up. Very good for them getting that done-will certainly show once the playoffs come around. Then of course 4C always has some really solid squads coming out of Loudoun County.
