God bless all the Union fans who supported their young men and see them safely home!!
I am sure it was quite a draining journey almost 400 miles from home.
Just hard to survive 4 first half miscues as well as a very tough opponent.
Clarke vs Appo looks like a good one!

It was a long day, and a long trip home, so I'm just now getting to this.

Congratulations to Clarke Co!
Union did have several miscues, and did not play up to their potential, but in the end I don't think a perfect Union offensive performance would have made a difference. The score may have been closer, but I don't think the outcome would have changed. This game was won by the Eagles O line. They dominated the Bears' defensive line. No penetration and no slowing down the timing of the wing.

No team held our D line in check all year, and we played some big strong teams, until Saturday. We got penetration on everyone at some point or another during all our games, but not against Clarke.

Congrats to Clarke County for beating a good Union team.

Just want to let you know that our players will be well prepared and if I know the coach like I think I do, he is always reminding them that they are 0-0 to humble them. He has them reflecting that any week could be the last. Coach Smith is a great coach and he will challenge these guys DAILY to learn something new and "get better." We are in in our last week and I know he is saying "I want yall to get better." That is a slogan I have heard him say 1000s of times.
