Congrats to Northumberland - only 2nd playoff victory since 1996!

#5 seed Northumberland wins a close won at #4 West Point tonight, 33-31, to advance to the second round next week at #1 Essex.

Great game to West Point who fought to end and almost pulled off the comeback.

Big Congrats to 1st year Northumberland Head Coach Aaron Lewis, his staff, players, and Indian fans.

1) This tough playoff victory tonight at West Point was just the second playoff game victory for Northumberland since 1996! 21 years-

2) NHS goes 8-3, which ties the most victories (2011 season) the Indians have had in over 20+ years.

3) NHS has enjoyed back to back winning seasons for the 1st time since the mid 1990s. Coach Lewis was Head JV coach last season and on Varsity staff.

4) NHS defeated W&L this season (who also had a big playoff win tonight) for the 1st time in 21 years.

Well done to the Indians on all these milestones!

The Indians played a well discipline game tonight just maybe 3 flags against them the whole night. Coach Lewis is only 22 years of age and is coaching like he’s a veteran very impressive. Indians will be off to Essex next Friday in probably the biggest game for Northumberland football in decades.
