WTF kind of question is that? Go to your safe space. Seriously.Just curious, if Trump gets rid of the dept. of education like he promises to do, what happens to high school football? Who’s paying for the football equipment then? And will we join up with the private schools?
Not the impossible nuggets 😂Yeah, Tofu for pregame meals. The poor JV will have to endure impossible chicken nuggets.
It amazes me that people on both sides of the voting aisle believe the people will stand idly by and accept either party becoming a dictatorship. Call me naive, but I still have faith that Americans are not full blown imbeciles.
You started the thread - you can delete it if you want.I honestly wasn't trolling I promise. But yeah just take it down. I should have phrased it differently, theoretically would this have any negative impact on public HS sports? I'm not huge into politics but I did see a blurb about him saying that.

I actually enjoy posts/threads like this.
Okay so according to Google:
Just because the Department of Education would disappear (unlikely) doesn't mean the federal funding would end. It just means money would go directly to each state for each state to decide how it would be spent.Okay so according to Google:
- Funding:
The DOE often provides funding for school districts, which in turn helps support sports programs with equipment, facilities, and staff salaries. Without this funding, schools might have to drastically cut back on sports teams or eliminate them entirely.

I’m proud that everyone is being mature about it. I think it shows we can talk about things without getting political.

If you believe what you read, truly believe it, then I feel really bad for you. Because 99% of everything that pops up when you do a search has an answer that supports the authors agenda. Sometimes that’s ok. Sometimes you need to understand why someone supports or promotes an idea. The problem is, the level of verifiable truth that is used to explain a topic runs from absurd, preposterous lies to well crafted, highly manipulated, convincingly true statements.Okay so according to Google:

It’s all a chance to return education from a federal property to a more state based property. Allow states and local districts o take charge again, without governmental red tape. I think it’ll be a plus. My hope is that education could return to more of a holistic approach where we care about the total student not just if they can pass a standardized test. There are bigger issues in doing this though, as you will have to ultimately, get more people signing up to work in education. This includes teachers and coaches.
This is my argument too! Gotta incentive people to go into education someway, somehow. Why take on debt by going to school and getting a bachelors and even a masters for a job whose pay doesn’t equate to the time and effort? Instead a lot of the country right now is stuck being unable to attract new and better candidates, especially post Covid. It’s a great teacher shortage with many younger candidates either not going into it or getting out quickly. On top of that add in retirees and the position is getting squeezed. With the example of sports, I always ask to count your “walk on” coaches. Coaches who do not have a job inside the school system. This is not to say that walk on coaches cannot be very valuable or even great coaches in their own right, but it just shows sort of the death of people wanting to be teacher/coaches in the country. I have a buddy who works down in southside VA, where he says one school district has 2/4 head football coaches being walk ons, not to mention many assistants. And that’s just one little county as example. Again, not critiquing the walk on coach but I think it’s indicative of a larger issue of a lack of people coming into the profession who want to teach and coach. Raise pay, take away college debt (oooooh I know scary topic), do something to get some of your upper level graduates to want to go and shape the next generationYou will never get more people into education until you start making the job attractive again with commiserate pay. People have their crotch goblins then pawn them off onto other people for most of the day and expect top-notch work at near-bottom pay levels. What teachers are paid throughout this country is a joke and the crumbling infrastructure of American education is a direct reflection of the average jerkoff's bemoaning of having to pay a dime towards anything that doesn't directly and tangibly benefit them.
People just run their mouths and when it comes time to foot the bill all that yapping gets real quiet, real quick.
@btowenatc is good people. We gotta stop letting people’s different political views determine their character. You are a snowflake liberal troll
That's a two-way street...@btowenatc is good people. We gotta stop letting people’s different political views determine their character.
That’s my main point in general. Respect should be mutual whether it’s religion or politics. What you believe in has nothing to do with me and vice versa. Nothing he said was disrespectful so he shouldn’t be name called or characterized in any way. That's a two-way street...
I agree 100 percent that respect should be given and people should be able to agree to disagree. However, I respectfully wholeheartedly disagree with the premise that what someone believes in or their political views isn't who they are. It's literally, one-thousand percent who they are. We support what we believe in, true men of character don't make justifications or compromise their integrity or character for anyone or anything, period. We will justify some decisions made under the false flag of financial prosperity, religious views, or whatever some tell themselves to make them sleep better at night. We certainly agree....however, in the past, that hasn't always been the case here on VP...differing opinions have virtually always been met with calls to judgement and assumptions about ones character. I can understand why he asked the question. The answer is a bit more deeper than a simple one line answer. It's a complex and very convoluted situation. In typical fashion, some parties on the National front have elected to simplify it through fear and misinformation for posturing and gains. I think we all shouldn't be surprised by that...it's the normal behavior by both parties. WE should be demanding that those clowns meet in the middle for the common good of us all....That’s my main point in general. Respect should be mutual whether it’s religion or politics. I agree 100%. If you're a MAGA cultist, you are incapable of critical thinking, and will blindly follow whatever implicit biases you acquired during childhood. See Nazi Germany for reference. But for the rest of us Republicans, Moderates, Democrats, etc. we will at least question something before endorsing it. Hence the reason for creating this post. Maybe the end of title 1 funding will have zero influence on public school funding for sports. But it's obvious some people on this board aren't even open for questioning of their Trump Daddy King. LOL. I guarantee you no one on here would call me a snowflake to my face, so I'm cool with it BOKnowsSports.I agree 100 percent that respect should be given and people should be able to agree to disagree. But Congress is meeting. All the presidents men and women are meeting. All of them. And the topic ain't the common good. They might as well just tell us what's going on. Are we in a simulation or not??But Congress is meeting. All the presidents men and women are meeting. All of them. And the topic ain't the common good. The topic is literally ALIENS AND UFOS.
