Ugly win for Graham who held VH to under 100 yds of total offense. VH scored on a 90yd kickoff return which was fumbled by the kid who returned it, and it bounced directly into the hands of the VA High kicker who ran it for a touchdown. VHs other touchdown was from a short field set up by a blocked punt. Graham had 3 turnovers and multiple penalties. Tripled VA High in total offense, but was losing 14-13 at the end of the 3rd qtr.

They shouldn't have this many penalties at this point in the season. Graham looked very sloppy and undisciplined.

I am getting worried about my Graham to win 2A this year. Glenvar has moved into my #1 2A team at this point in the season. They have not been tested though. They have beat 4 bad teams. I assume they will handle Radford this week.

Alleghany on the 11th will be their first test of the year. (MaxPreps has 11th and 18th, not sure which is correct)

Should be worried. Graham needs to figure some things out at the QB position. It's getting a little late to make the type of offensive adjustments they need to make. Also, the procedure, false start and personal fouls are out of control. Can't win a big game making those kind of mistakes

From a Radford fan I'm also worried about Graham because I wouldn't want to be the team that plays them. Defense wins titles and Grahams defense might be the best they've had in over 30 years. I don't see anyone moving the ball on them or any teams offense scoring over 10 pts. Graham's scores will not be as wide of victory margins this year, but it will not matter. 49 to 13 looks great compared to 28-7 but the truth is, the team with 7 has little chance of moving the ball. If you look at how many yds per game Graham is giving up, it's alarmingly low and for Graham, might be historic low and having to go back all the way to 1989. Their defense is that good this year

I agree about the defense being outstanding. It's the offense (or lack thereof) that is concerning as a Graham fan. Also, the self induced wounds resulting in penalties of 100 + yards per game. A good team may need to only score 10 points on Graham to beat them. One positive is that V-High played them tough last year and Graham still made a deep run. There is still time to clean up the penalties, but the coaching staff needs to get on that stuff ASAP. Graham seems to have these mental miscues on a consistent basis the past few seasons. Not sure what the best way to approach this problem could be, hopefully the G-men will figure things out.

I’ve watched Graham play 3 games now. In the games that I have watched them dominate defensively, the opposing teams appear to be really 1 dimensional. I am anxious to see Glenvar play Radford, Floyd, and Allegheny. Right now though, Graham hasn’t played an offense like Glenvar has yet this year. Well balanced, mixing it up, with multiple players that can score from anywhere on the field. Glenvar arguably has the best Quarterback in 2A right now. 6’5 runs well and throws dots. If he is on he’s going to be difficult to beat.

I agree that defense wins championships. If both of these teams continue playing well I think they meet in the State Semis.
