Larkin Gross, graduate of Essex High School, broke the third round low score record at Wanamaker course. He carded 11 birdies for an 64 (-8) for the day and landing tied for 2nd.
His dad Butch Gross (3 sport star at Essex) is a classmate of mine. He was his sons caddy for this tournament. He also has a daughter who plays golf at King William and I believe made she or her team made it to the state tourney this year.
I remember having a conversation with Butch and he said his son Larkin wanted to give being a pro golfer a try after finishing college where they won a national championship. Good to see his dreams coming true.
I just saw on one of the KW Facebook pages that Arria Gross, the sister of Larkin and current King William golfer, just signed to play Division 1 golf at The Citadel
