I travel to Wytheville several times a week and have some close friends from Wytheville . The players and coaches have nothing but respect for the players on Galax and their coaching staff .
Nobody said the coaches and players didn't have respect for Galax but there is talk out of Wythe county about the back being soft....I travel to Wytheville several times a week and have some close friends from Wytheville . Wow what???? If you are referring to the comments about the back being soft go check out the SWVA football message boards and you will see what people are referring to.WOW !!
Not hearing a lot right now on either of them...Is 55 or 53 for Galax getting any looks from colleges ?
dont know the running back from galax but i do know a few fans of GW and the reason the kid at galax left gw is because he couldnt win the starting job. 3 schools in three years not sure how thats allowed but oh well.

I agree the build has been fun - and there Is a really good chance we get to do this again in a couple of weeks. LolWhooo...game day ladies and gentlemen. I’m exited to see how this one plays out. The build up this week has been some of the best so far this year.
Two of the better offenses in swva battle it out to see who’s got what it’s gonna take to have a deep run. Hope everyone is safe this evening and leaves it all on the field.
I feel like both teams bring a lot to the table. To me it’s gonna come down to line play, discipline, and making the best of your opponents mistakes.
Best of luck to all...
@Triple Opt, it could be you two meet up again but I would Narrows wants at least a say in that, lol.
Good luck to both teams and you fellas let us know if there is a video of this one. I look for a very closely contested game with a the winner sitting in a pretty good spot to make a ton of noise in late November and early December.
Some are saying if the winner of this game runs the table that they might pass narrows for the 1 spot....i still need to sit down and figure the points for the winner of this game and narrows to see of that's possible.Redpride, neither is my team sir. I was just stating that these two teams will most likely meet up in the second round as Narrows will most likely be 1 seed and GW and Galax( barring an upset in round 1 will most likely have to play to each other to get to the region championship.
Thanks for the update....@Triple Opt, no worries.
@MT FAN 91, If the winner runs the table its almost a guarantee they will outpoint Narrows. Narrows is racking up wins but not getting a lot of riders due to those teams not winning. Chilhowie, Auburn and Covington are their biggest rider contributors. Plus both GW and Galax were smart to just play a 9 game schedule losing out on the Bland game. Taking a forfeit there would have cost them on their avg since it would have been the 16 for classification win but no chance at Riders. Below is what I have.
Narrows 162 Classification points
70 Rider points (assuming 35 opponent wins total)
232/10 games or a 23.2
1 Loss GW 144 Classification points
74 Rider points (assuming 41 opponent wins total)
218/9 games or a 24.22
1 Loss Galax 144 Classification points
76 Rider points (assuming 41 opponent wins total)
222/9 games or a 24.6
The rub comes in if the winner of this game were to drop one of their last two.
Wow Triple Option for someone who is not a Galax supporter you have a ton of info and questions concerning them?Redpride, neither is my team sir. If im not mistaken he pulls for our rival's Grayson CountyWow Triple Option for someone who is not a Galax supporter you have a ton of info and questions concerning them?
Umm someone who told you that is uninformed. As according to digital scout he played at fort Chiswell in 2017 and 2018. And attended GW in 2016 as a freshman . I also don't know too many freshmans that can expect to start on varsity at RB.
I have to disagree on the talent standpoint them and Riverheads the spurlin kid and their running back was best two players on fieldI would think most people on here would agree that most years on paper, GW has more overall pure talent, and weapons than does Galax. Dixon is 4-1 against GW since 2010. I am specifically thinking of the 2016 match-up when GW was being lauded as a state title contender (they played in the semis) and had weapons all over the field. Galax came to Wytheville (I was there), and methodically punished GW for a 45-20 win.
The 2015 State Championship team beat Riverheads and Essex, two teams that outclassed them from a talent standpoint.
I am not a Galax fan, alumnus, or in any way associated with Galax, but I have an immense amount of respect for Coach Dixon.
