SALEM, VA - Known for being a perennial state championship contender, the Salem Spartans once again are expected to be one of the favorites to win it all in 4A this coming season. In addition to owning 7 championship trophies, the Salem Spartans will be joining another elite group of champions this fall as well.
The Gameday Broadcast Network is excited to announce that the defending 4A state champs will be prominently featured on a regular basis with Gameday's football coverage throughout the 2016 season.
"When you look at the great programs in the state of Virginia, Salem High School is one of the best there is," said Gameday Owner Andy Hayes. "We've built our brand by partnering with multiple championship football programs. Adding a championship program like Salem to our regular broadcast schedule is an honor, and we are excited to bring some new exciting coverage to Spartan fans this fall and beyond."
Salem opens their 2016 season at home against Amherst and kickoff is scheduled for 7pm. Stay tuned for more exciting content during the preseason as the Spartans will be featured with Gameday's popular Training Camp All-Access programming.
Gameday's coverage began in Northern Virginia over a decade ago but has since expanded into Southwestern Virginia. Gameday's coverage map will continue to grow in the future with an emphasis on building a statewide presence.
During the fall, the Gameday Broadcast Network is the state of Virginia's most comprehensive website for watching live high school football games online. Gameday televises 8 to 10 full games to watch live and on-demand on a weekly basis. Members at GamedayMagazine.com have an All-Access pass to all broadcast content throughout the year.
In addition to Gameday's schedule of games that are televised live online, fans can watch programming such as the weekly "Top 10 Plays" and various shows with area coaches and broadcast professionals on the Network while also enjoying written articles and photos from the games.
