Gate City vs. Wings Academy (The Bronx, NY)

Will try to keep the score updated as much as possible. They face off in less than 30 mins. Gonna be a tough test for GC. If nothing else, it will show GC what all they need to improve on.

GC took the early lead with a layup. Wings goes on a run and takes a 15-8 lead with 4 mins left in the 1st qtr.

Wings is flying up and down the court right now (no pun intended) and take a 26-14 lead to end the first qtr.

GC cuts into the lead and makes it a 31-26 game with 4:30 left in the 2nd qtr

Wings ends the half with a huge dunk. It was GCs qtr though and the Devil's cut into the lead to make it a 35-31 game at halftime....Wings still ahead. GC missed alot of deep 3s while Wings was on fire and it's still a 4 pt game. GC has been a 2nd half team all year. If they come out on fire and shoot like they have been up to date then the Devils might actually have a chance to pull this game out. Gotta start shooting the ball better though.

Mac had a pretty rough 3rd qtr. Wings lead 50-43 going into the 4th. GC will have to put together a really solid qtr to pull this one out.

GC took a 1 pt lead with about 3 mins left on back to back 3 pt shots by Zac Ervin. Then Wings went back down and made the layup and got the foul and went back up by 2. GC tied the game again with less than 2 mins left and Wings finally answered and went up by 2. McClung went in for a bucket and made the shot and got fouled but the ref called it on the floor. So instead of GC maybe being up by 1....GC still trailed by 2. McClung missed a 3 pt shot after the inbounding the ball and that pretty much ended the game. A few scrap points after but the game was over.

Not bad considering GC was absolutely ice cold from the 3 pt line for almost the whole game. GC will learn and improve. They was due a bad game of shooting though after being red hot for the past few games.

Thought GC was the better team. And calls went mostly to the visitors from New York. GC shooting was very cold to start the game .
