Gate City's PG Mac McClung landed what I would consider his first big time offer today from Patrick and the Hoyas. With alot of tournaments coming up in July and now that Georgetown and Rutgers have both offered McClung....i wouldn't be surprised to see several high major D1 offers come rolling in. July should be the month that Macs recruitment blows up. Also would not be surprised to see him crack the Top 250 players in the nation on several recruiting services.

Congrats to Mac! All his hard work and dedication is paying off 100% and i think the best for him is yet to come.

Rutgers was a very nice offer! I feel like the offer from the Knights opened the doors for high major D1 schools to come knocking......and if not them then the offer from Georgetown will surely do it. If he has a good month of July with Team Loaded in the big time tournament's he will rack up some major offers. This is just scratching the surface of what I think we will see from Mac and his recruitment.

Really excited to see how much Mac has improved his game when he sets foot on GCs gym floor this winter. Not to forget about Zac Ervin....he was just recently offered by ETSU. If he improves as much as Mac did from his Soph to Junior season then I see Zac landing some very big offers as well. Definitely an exciting time to watch GC play some ball. It's gonna be another fun year.

So this young man didn't transfer to a WCAC school or Oak Hill or IMG Academy, and STILL is getting these offers? This should let all high school players know that if you are good enough the colleges will find you, you don't need to transfer from your home town! The AAU circuit will get you exposure as well, of course, I assume he is playing at a high level there. Very happy to see that this young man is staying HOME, with family and friends, through high school. It's such a short four years! Best of luck to him this year and beyond.

Mac nipped that Oak Hill transfer rumor in the bud real quick a few months ago in an interview. He never once claimed he was gonna go there and as far as he's concerned GC is his home and he wants to play with his teammates. Now this is coming from him.....and even if he had interest in Oak Hill at some point im sure hes gonna say all the right things and decline to the rumors but I truly believe that transfer talk was just BS people stirred up. Mac is getting all the recognition he needs during the summer playing for Team Loaded VA. He's playing with and against a bunch of the Top 100 players in the nation.....no need for him to transfer. Plus like you said, if your good enough the big boys will come looking and find you. I'm excited for him to stay home and finish out what he started at GC with his friends and teammates.

Would be very shocked if he didnt receive more big time offers in the month of July. We will see very shortly!

Id like to see him stay in the state of Virginia....but I've really not heard anyone mention what schools he's interested in the most. I'm sure he's just enjoying the process right now and is wanting to see who all shows interest in him. If he's improved this year as much as he did from him Sophomore to Junior season....hes gonna be unreal. Really enjoy watching the kid play and wish nothing but the best for him.....he puts in alot of hard work and it's paying off.
