Graham / Glenvar scrimmage.

I'm sure. We all know you're an expert at measuring talent.
From Oct. 22, 2016--

LOL, I love the ole playing to the crowd fallacy in "We" all know. Stormwatcher, you don't speak for the board, especially with one title since 2004. My friend, you are just not taken seriously with one title. Maybe in Tazewell County, but across the state, you are seen as....."if we can make it through game 3, and then crossover in game 4, or even play somebody formidable in game 4, and play Richlands in the title game, we got it." I mean....I know this bothers you, and no question, you are viewed as a solid program, but across the state, not a major, major threat to win the whole thing. You are viewed as a program that will get there and go far, but comes up short. That was Puquoson's mentality years ago. When it got out of the region and then won that semi-final game, the Bull Islanders knew they had a chance because your team has not, will not, and does not have the athletes and speed of for example, a team like Appo, and they knew the game should be kept close until the 4th, and then see what happens. Appo knew it had a state title the minute it won game 4. Again, we can do this for days or weeks or months, but you attacked me.....and I am finishing, and will respond each time with how many titles you have won if you want to take it to this level.

Again, no need for playing to the audience and the "we" statements. You don't speak for the board nor was elected "board rep". You represent a one time since 2004 state champion and all of the 10-0's, 9-1's, game 13's, game 14's, and recently, game 15's appearances still has one common problem that bothers you....and that is....1 state title since being relevant. One more thing of common knowledge regarding Union. I think you hate Union less than you do your county rival Graham. I know the kind of person you are. It's obvious. This is why, you make the statements, "I fear Union less than Graham." Maybe you do, maybe you don't, but the fact is, you hate Union LESS than you do Graham because Graham has owned you as a program up until 2004. This is why you speak up when someone picks Graham.

I've talked to many fans in your area and the perception still is....Richlands has really risen up since 2004 and they are one heck of a program, but they only get far and usually are not going to win it, and Graham is one coach away from being back to old form and dominating the county like it always did because it has better athletes and the talent is there. <-----That statement bothers you, but its the sentiment in the area and county I have got to many times when discussing SWVA football on Saturdays in Blacksburg. It's also the reason....I pick Graham to beat you, and if Graham does make it to the state-semi's, look for them to be a real threat to win it. I will take my chances with them out of SWVA before Richlands. Sorry, but I have seen that build up and "windblow" to many times to be fooled.

One more thing about Richlands in all seriousness that has perplexed me. I have seen them lose 4 times late in the playoffs since 2004. This I will never understand. It's not my call and I don't know the in's and out's of the program, but just my perception and maybe I am wrong. Here it is.....Richlands so many times when I have watched them lose late in the playoffs loves that wide open passing game and it's good I guess. It works for them, but so many times I have seen them drop back on 1st down and make an incomplete pass that gives them so many 2nd and 10's which kills a huge portion of their possessions. Now I get it, if this is what they do, but the issue I have had when watching them is...their OLines have always been huge, and I mean.....huge, physical, and tough. To me, they should have been a run oriented first team over the last 12-13 years with the great ability to pass, and they would have more state titles. They would also likely have more losses in their regular season record because run oriented teams always have some games in the season when the cough it up, then get behind, and next thing you know, you are in the 4th quarter, and many of those 10-0 or 9-1 seasons might have been 8-2 seasons, but they would have come out better in the long run in the playoffs because about every time I have seen them play, they have had a the better lineplay then the other team. Even against Appo, the lines were even in my opinion. Appo had much better players at the skilled positions and in the secondary, but the lineplay was equal, yet Richlands did the same thing, many, many time in the Appo game, drop back on 1st down and have 2nd and 10's throughout the game.
You can't do that against teams like Appo. I don't think it would have mattered as Appo was by far the best in the state, but it would have mattered against some of the losses Richlands had many times in the playoffs since 2004. They could have worn down some of those teams they lost to with their OL. Only my take. Wilson Memorial, Poquoson, and Monticello all come to mind. I watched all three of these games over the years. Richlands was the better team in at least 2 of those 3 contests, maybe all 3, but again, how does one define the best team. It's not just game 1 through 13 or 14, the state championship game counts and still has to be played and bringing your A game when it counts is important. But with WM, Poquoson and Monticello, more running on first and second downs and less passing would have Richlands winning at least 2 more state titles than what they have right now. Only my take.

Union will definitely be tough. Hearing Richlands has been having a slew of unfortunate injuries.

Poq hosted West Point on Thursday. The only TD Poq scored in the entire scrimmage came on a busted play where WP only had 10 guys on the field. Poq is not a state title contender in 2A imo
I don't understand why every team that drops to 2A is supposed to just win it all. I don't think Poquoson is a top 5 team in 2A compared to who's been competing at the top of 2A.

I dont think anybody besides lucis thinks this

I am certainly not the only person that thinks this, but I am one of only two people to write it down on this board. There's a huge difference in 1000s of VHSL football fans that never read or write on this board and "think" a certain way versus the small tiny portion of VHSL fans that write on this board. Therefore, making the statement, "lucus is the only one that feels this way" is innacurate.

I think the way I do not because Poqouson is dropping to 2A. I think the way I do because of what they return, the schedule they play which will feature 2 teams that can and would beat ANY 2A team in Virginia, and again, the lineplay of Poqouson, and their mental toughness/football IQ. Their OL and DL will keep them in every playoff game. Therefore, the fact that they drop to Div 2 is 1/5th of the reasoning for why I feel they should be ranked very high. Therefore again, to write that I feel Poquoson should be ranked so high is because they dropped from 3A to 2A is a bit innacurate and doesn't tell the whole story.

I think Poquoson should be a contender but not because of the drop, because they are a quality team.
