Just want to show love to 2027 Denbigh QB Kevin Parker. Honestly might be the best athlete in 4A but has played on a Denbigh team that has went 2-19 the past 2 seasons.

He plays on a team that does not have the talent to compete with 99% of teams in the state and has no line to block for him with limited talent at the skill positions but he still manages to turn heads every game. I respect his loyalty because I know firsthand that he has been approached by several schools to transfer in and could really get the recognition he deserves if he did. Already has offers from schools like Va Tech, Duke, UNC, and Maryland. I expect his stock to shoot up these next two summers. Not sure he’s a QB at the FBS P4 level but he will definitely be at a big time school.

Anybody else got anymore names like Parker to share? Just tryna start some discussion while we wait these 2 months for football season.

Think the second easiest choice is Jaxon Keys from Blacksburg. Blacksburg has been very down but the young man is must see TV and has 4 or 5 P4 offers. Plays RB.

In 2013, Denbigh had a stellar QB. I don’t recall his name, but he was a natural. They made the playoffs that year, but he was just about the only real weapon they had. I was hoping he would play college ball somewhere, but I think he wasted the opportunity.

Now? No. But Ryan Williams was a 5*-level (ended up just shy of it) talent and played on some just awful Stonewall Jackson teams. Stupidly good RB, must have been surrounded by absolute nothingness for them to make essentially no postseason noise ever while he was there.

David Wilson was another. GW won 2 whole playoff games while he was there.

GW was far from bad when David was there. Hatfield had them as a top 4 C6 team in 07 when they beat Varina and their two losses were to state champion Amherst and state runner up Potomac, David fumbled 6 times that day. I personally thought the 06 team was better than 2007’s. They were the only team to beat Amherst during their championship run in 2006 and 2007. His senior year in 08 they were down compared to his sophomore and junior years, but still better than most very good teams today. Disappointing? VERY. Bad? Far from!

One thing i can say about you Bo is you know about stuff in parts of the state that i would never expect a Richmond head to know. First time I’ve ever heard this name and offers from teams like Ole Miss, Michigan State, and San Diego State speak for him. One glaring question wtf is Va Tech waiting on???

Terrence Dingle. Played for a good D2 program Harding University. But nah that team had Chris Peace who went to UVA and had some run in the league. Along with a couple of other good players especially at WR. That was the last good team Denbigh had. Crazy to think that was 12 years ago.

Ironically they lost to one of the last good teams Heritage had in the playoffs and that Heritage team got whooped on by your Generals. Dinwiddie whooped everyone that year in route to that 15-0 season.

Reminds me of Mike Vick at Warwick. If the recruiting sites existed back then how they do now Vick would’ve been a top 10 QB nationally and they never won anything with him. He was overshadowed by some dude named Ronald Curry tho lol. Crazy Curry’s decision to listen to Boo Williams and olay basketball at UNC cheated us out of potentially seeing two top 5 picks in NFL draft from 10 mins away from each other.

If he stays committed to UVa and stuck solely to football, then no doubt in my mind that would’ve propelled him to the heights he should’ve made it to. Just to think Ron C being committed to UVa is the reason Tech got Mike Vick.

One or two did, one was called SuperPrep iirc. Vick was a very highly rated national recruit, top 50-100 iirc. Curry was just the unquestioned #1 and a stone's throw away so he got all the press (and rightly so).

Not sure UVA lands Vick regardless but would have been a factor. Cuse was the big threat because of McNabb but Beamer and Reamon had a very good relationship that I think puts Vick in Blacksburg regardless.

Yeah it was between Tech and Cuse because UVa was off the table at the time because Ron C was committed there. Always heard he wanted to go to UVA because of his cousin Aaron Brooks.

GW beat number 1 seed Brooke Pointe in the first round. Wilson caught a wheel route with 2 minutes left. BP defender slid off him and he went all the way.

SJ had a pretty solid team in '04 when Williams had his breakout freshman year. Narrowly lost the regional championship in overtime and I still think they would have been a problem for Robinson in the state semi-final.

But yeah, after that year he was probably on his own. IIRC he also dealt with injuries that caused him to miss games. If he played in all of his HS games with a good team + strong lines, there is no telling what kind of wild numbers he would have put up. I've thought about some of the great RBs to come out of NOVA in the last 30 years or so and I do think that he was the best RB out of them all.

I appreciate the compliment bro! I am born and bred Southwest VA. There's an abundance of talent coming up in the state. The Roanoke Metro (45 mile radius of the city) is loaded with talent (Fleming, PH, Salem, North Cross, Glenvar all with multiple D1 recruits in their program). Not really related to your football thread, but I could see Salem winning the C4 basketball ship with the talent in their program these next 2-3 years. Northside has 2 rising sophomores who will be significant recruits by the time they are 11th graders. The 804/757 are loaded (so is NOVA but most of their best are private school kids), but the 434/276/540 has a lot of talent too.

Here’s another one from class of 27. Derek Fisher from Bethel. If he was at a school like Phoebus he would be a bigger name. Rumor is Bethel got some transfers and should be actually good this year but we shall see.

Offers from ACC schools like Va Tech, UVa, Wake Forest, Syracuse, and Duke.

Yeah im the typical 757 head that barely ever goes west of Richmond.
