Game Recap Hampton Christian defeats Broadwater Academy

Hampton Christian advanced to the Metro Conference semi-finals with a 60-47 win over Broadwater Academy in a game played at Alliance Christian School. The Warriors never trailed while placing three players in double figures.

Hampton Christian opened the game on an 11-0 run and led 15-6 after the 1st quarter behind eight points from Chase Mann. However, Mann would lead the game with a lower leg injury and Broadwater Academy drained a couple of treys to close the gap. A buzzer beating half court 3-pointer by Jackson Rose made the score 23-20 in favor of Hampton Christian at halftime.

Mann came out of the halftime break and promptly led the Warriors on a 6-0 run by scoring two baskets to extend the lead to 29-20. Hampton Christian pushed the lead to 13 (40-27) before ending the 3rd quarter with a 44-35 lead. Mann finished with 14 points and an icepack on his ankle.

Broadwater Academy couldn't cut into the lead any further in the 4th quarter before losing 60-47. Rose had an outstanding scoring game finishing with 24 points including four treys. Center Nathan Crumb 10 points and seven rebounds while Jordan Yarrell scored all nine of his points on 3-pointers in the 1st half.

Joining Mann in double figures for Hampton Christian was Evan Tebay with 14 points and Justice Smith who had 11 second half points to go along with seven rebounds and four assists. Tyler Buckner added six points, eight rebounds and four steals.
