Fresh off a 2nd place finish at the max horz invitational the Judges defeat the Pioneers 37-36. Not sure how talented millbrook is but Handley is on the upswing with a ton of young talent. It's been a long time since Handley has been relevant in wrestling. Since the late 90's at least.

Judgement year

Yeah, you got to like the job Coach Scott is doing over at Handley. There are three very good coaches in the NWD (Scott, Walker, and Keel) and two of them are James Wood grads.

Re: Judgement year

The key to the judges success is that they now have a quality feeder program at Daniel Morgan middle school, that is where the significant change in coaching has taken place. He is doing a good job there. The middle school coaching in The county middle schools has declined, especially with the retirement of Bill Funk at Aylor Middle school. He is a icon in the history of Frederick County Wrestling. As long as Frederick County keeps taking baby steps backwards in the support of the Athletic programs, the decline will be seen in all sports. One example is in middle school Wrestling, Frederick county middle schools are no longer allowed to travel outside of the county to compete against other county schools( Warren, Shenandoah). It limits the the experience, and competitive interest in the sport. Ask Coach Pepper Martin, Walker, or any of them in the county- When was the last time you could fill out your roster, and compete in all the weight classes? Frederick county has become a disgrace, when it comes to supporting athletics. And it is getting worse not better.
