Lot of discussion on the 5A board regarding whether a kick was good. The question is what is the proper positioning for officials at the goalpost on a kick? Is that positioning affected by the type of goal post(center pole versus old style base pole extended as upright?

If it's the same video I saw, the position of the officials during this play was affected by the football/soccer combo goals.

Incidentally, I don;t know what the players think they saw but the video I saw clearly showed the kick was good.

Think you're right about the combo goals. Is there a standard position for the refs to position themselves? Thanks in advance.

Normally, officials are directly behind each upright, close enough to move up if a kick over the top of the upright needs to be judged. If the kick is to my side, I have the upright and you have the crossbar and vis a versa.
