Austin Ray struckout nine batters while allowing only two runs to help Honaker defeat William Campbell 5-2 in the 1A semi-final at Radford University. Ray threw a complete game needing only 98 pitches for the win.

Ray and Generals pitcher Brandon West battled in a pitchers duel thru six five innings with zeroes in the run column for both teams. The teams combined for six hits through the first five innings.

Honaker finally broke thru against West scoring five runs in the bottom of the sixth. West walked the first two batters and then was hit hard allowing a double and back-to-back triples. Derek Gilbert double to right-field scoring a run and Makenzie Phillips drove in a run with a ground out to 2nd base. Hunter Lester tripled scoring Gilbert for a 3-0 lead. Ray helped his cause with a triple. Miller singled to center to give Honaker a 5-0 lead.

Slade Seals smashed a 2-run homerun homered with two outs in the top of the seventh to give William Campbell some hope but Ray got Daron Townsend to ground out to first base to end the game.

Both Ray and Lester finished with two hits and a RBI for Honaker while Seals finished with two hits for William Campbell.
