Looks real from the vhsl but all I know is that odu will definitely be packed out for the 5 and 6 games

Franklin county had to drive to Western branch in the first round of the playoffs so I don’t think the travel would be an issue! Especially if you flip it the following year.
and you think the other regions would go for this?

don't think A/D would be fair travel wise
Yeah. The winner of the Kings Fork game would have to travel to Salem or Danville next week. According to Google maps that's a 4h and 14 minute drive to Salem for Kings Fork and another 3Hr drive to Danville

How far was it of a drive from William Fleming to Stonebridge last year?

3hr and 20 m trip for SB. Franklin county had to travel over 4 Hrs to play Landsdown in VA beach in 2019. FC is located far West of most C6 teams

If Broad Run and Danville win today. One team will be going for a 4 Hr road trip as well

It was about a 3.5 hour trip for Stone Bridge to travel to Roanoke in the spring to play Fleming.

So with the amount of travel that has to be done, eventually, regardless, it shouldn’t matter. Every two years it should rotate with each year, one region having to travel to the other. A should travel to B,and then the following year B travel to A. After those two have made their return trip, A should travel to C the next year. And so on

That’s how they used to do it before they change the playoffs system. I prefer the old way.

In regular season rotating matches makes since. Not a big fan of it in playoffs. Higher seed should host.

In C4 they didn't switch the regions like hoospring mentioned. I personally don't like the idea of having the regions rotate but in the end it doesn't really matter. The best teams are usually the same. Just different matchups. Now they did switch home field from one region to the other but the regions always played the same region.

It’s the semifinals. Throw that travel reasoning out the window. A/D is no different than C/D or even some of the northern B teams
The easiest way is to keep it simple across all divisions. The best team will win state weather it's from A,B,C or D in all 6 classes

It would be a long trip for some schools but it's the best option if VHSL really wants to get the closest to the best team winning the championship.
