Chris worked hard wherever he was coaching. He was personable and the kids at Smithfield, during his time here, genuinely liked having him around.
He used to be a stickler about safety, it haunted him terribly when the kid at Jamestown was paralyzed while he was the head coach. He preached proper technique every season at Smithfield and wouldn't tolerate anything less.
I'm really sorry to hear of his passing and extend my condolences and prayers to his family, friends and community.
