Good question Navy. I’m not familiar with the young man Hansom. He’s a transfer. Looks like a baller.@BoKnowsSports. Why is Varina not playing Wyche at QB? Hansom threw the td.
He’s a transfer from HS! What was the final score?Good question Navy. I’m not familiar with the young man Hansom. He’s a transfer. Looks like a baller.
Varina looked undisciplined. A lot of talent. He’s a transfer from HS! What was the final score?
I agree, 31 points is major for them but they put their defense in horrible spots minus the big 63 yard TD in the 4th. They run that offense like they’re a C1 roster with 1 or 2 good skill guys. They are probably 4-5 deep (elite playmakers) and they made zero improvements to their schemes.Varina's defense is elite, but their offense is stale and predictable. The defense didn't let them down. The offense kept them in a hole and in the field all night. Give Varina credit they play anybody and everybody. They will bounce back. Platooning qb's sure isn't the answer.
With 30 coaches, gotta think somebody can run that offense properly.Well this sounds a bit concerning. I probably didn't give Indian River enough credit though. Did Varina’s run game have any life? I just don't understand why the OC can't develop an actual scheme.
@GoBlue2109, it's just as @BoKnowsSports said. Aside from Huguenot they have the most overall talent in B. No, their running game was awful and Varina turned ball over on downs, turnovers, penalties. They can surely play better and may. I don't understand the madness. You let Linwood walk away, so Wyche can start then Hansom transfers in a you play two qb's? Same as last year. Pick a man and adjust your scheme to fit the player. Throw it up and pray aint and offensive scheme.Well this sounds a bit concerning. I probably didn't give Indian River enough credit though. I have an issue with the excessive coaches but most of those guys are my Varina brothers through the different eras so I try not to criticize too bad. But man I'm starting to feel like I'm a cowboys fan. With 30 coaches, gotta think somebody can run that offense properly.
I don’t know much about Bishop McNamara but what are your thoughts on that game with Varina this week?Varina had the game won last night but piss poor playcalling/clock management lost it. I’m no expert or rocket scientist but D1 Carter is probably 2x the athlete Ant Fisher was so why aren’t they putting the ball in his hands to run the ball to win these games like they did the year Fisher led them to the state championship? Wyche is a top 3 QB in the region, but he’s 5’8, maybe 155. Carter is 6’2, 185 with 4.4 speed. Gotta put him behind that big line and let him make a play and run out the clock. It ain’t hard at all.
Those WCAC teams are tough man. St. John’s, Gonzaga, DeMatha, Good Counsel. BM isn’t the program that those teams are, but there’s still a pretty high level of talent there. I see that they’ve played a lot of DC public schools outside of their WCAC schedule so Varina is a huge schedule upgrade. Varina could very well be 0-2 going to a huge game with Herm if they don’t clean it up. From what I’ve seen, I like Herm in that matchup and you won’t find a bigger Varina homer than me.I don’t know much about Bishop McNamara but what are your thoughts on that game with Varina this week?
Yep you are correct 2 minutes and 35 seconds left in the game and they lose the ball on a fumble. Then at the end of the game varina drives the ball all the way down to the one yard line 3rd and one and was called for illegal procedure which moved the ball back to the six yard line.Varina should have won this game easily. I just don't understand with all the talent that Varina has the offensive coordinated is not using the talent to its potential. 100%. Varina had to have that game last night. Herm in two weeks, Glen Allen, gotta go to Ashland and play an underrated PH team (they look really good with Roose at QB), and then hosting the Springers, who look like a machine, to end the season.Yep you are correct 2 minutes and 35 seconds left in the game and they lose the ball on a fumble.
