JF should beat Glass. I think Glass and GW are basically the same team. Can’t make mistakes when you play a well coached team like JF. I’m not all that sold on this new Glass staff to get it done.I had my eyes on this game all night while watching Salem. Very surprised by both teams. I'll be interested to see if Glass is able to change things up next week.

I respect the hell out of them and appreciate the lessons they teach outside of football… Lovelace is a great man….I feel like Glass has underachieved this year though.Old WF staff
Just curious what plays you would have called Bo? Also, I’m pretty sure the BC commit had that fumble squirt out from under him before the JF player recovered so it isn’t like GW guys stood around and watched it as you implied.GW’s playcalling on that final drive was the difference. It’s been their downfall and same story for going on 12 years. GW was the better team but got outcoached and out executed. They stopped taking advantage of matchups that they were able to exploit during the second half. GW was much faster and was able to out athlete the Cavs to start the comeback. The slow start was a case of them being passive until they saw they could play with JF. Can’t blame the refs when your defensive players watch a fumble roll between 3 of them and a JF player recover the football or your QB throwing a pass in double coverage that rarely makes with single coverage, when he has a Boston College commit wide open in the flats. Good game Cavs.
Doesn’t matter, GW needs to find a competent play caller. Enjoy the excuses in Danville.Just curious what plays you would have called Bo? I’ve had 10 long years too long to watch Nick Anderson’s teams blow it and choke.
I don’t know enough about Anderson/GW to have an opinion on him but weren’t they in a smaller region where basically everyone made the playoffs for a while? I may be wrong on that.As far as Coach Anderson goes I have to provide each of you with some data. The mans first season was in 2013. He has made the playoffs in 10 of 11 seasons and his record in those games is 9-10. Anderson overall record is 89-42 (.679) and he had his lone losing season in 2022. Maybe he can't get over the hump in the playoffs, but Region D is no joke. Yes, the Piedmont District is weak, but year in year out y'all play a tough OOD schedule. Is something amiss? I tend to think so, but what is the best course of action? If letting Anderson go is your answer, please be reminded that success does not come easy and finding a coach to duplicate his success will be difficult.
The loss to JF was one of their better playoff efforts, particularly considering the youth of the roster. As I have said before, I view the issues as a Danville/GW problem much more than an individual coach problem and they have persisted for the better part of this century. In an era where it takes little more than the ability to fog a mirror to make the playoffs, and even less than that if you play in a weak district, the only real measuring stick is playoff performance. GW cannot pick its district.@Chuck Vipperman (GW), @BoKnowsSports, @tommythecpa, @cutnjump and @Mic Honcho you guys are loyal and trusted GW fans. You each have varied opinions on the City of Danville and the the Eagles team. I for one have respected, admired, and resented the GW program for a long time. The Eagles played hard and came up short tonight against JF. The school I graduated from PH-Roanoke was the #1 seed and choked against a bitter rival. It happens!

Navy I appreciate you. GW has pissed away more talent than anybody in the state of Virginia. We can look at statistics all day and night. The glaring statistic is GW is unprepared for the big game and finds themselves outcoached every year, often in humiliating and humbling fashion. Since 2013 their playoff losses are ‘13 Courtland, ‘14 Salem, ‘15 Champe, ‘16 Heritage Loudoun, ‘17 Salem, ‘18 Pulaski, ‘19 Salem, COVID year Salem, ‘21 Salem , ‘22 didn’t make the playoffs and JF last night. Most games of those games were lost in humiliating fashion. I’ve been on these boards for Anderson’s whole coaching career and defended him many times. I’m not calling for his job, I’m just saying the man obviously can’t and will more than likely never (if we’re going off of data) take GW to the next steps as a program as far as winning anything goes.Since realignment in 2013 GW has been a top four seed. Heck until last year they rarely lost more than two games in the regular season. Plus they have always played a tough OOD schedule. I don't know Anderson either. I am just looking at stats.
Thanks! Also condolences as the Patriots seem to have a similar playoff hex hanging over their head. I realize it was a rivalry game and anything can happen but, it was not one of their better efforts IMO. Really a shame they got bitten so badly by the injury bug as at full strength they were one of PH's more talented teams in quite a while and as a #1 seed they likely had their most favorable path to at least a berth in the semis.@cutnjump and @BoKnowsSports I respect and appreciate your well thought out responses. Nothing left to say. God bless you guys and GW Danville football.
You just made the exact same argument against Anderson that people have been making against GW head football coaches since 1996. Inability to win the big games, can't take GW back to the glory days, yada yada yada. 1994 and 1996 GW had Ronald Curry esque QBs and still couldn't win the state title, although they were so close it could be argued that it was simply the Football Gods who intervened to prevent it from happening. From then on GW was still absolutely loaded to the gills with talent but ran old school smash mouth offenses that didn't take advantage of the talent. Hell even North Carolina HOFer Coach Teague didn't have what it takes to win in VA with all of the same talent. So BO, please do not make it seem like this is an Anderson problem. Bottom line is GW football was sliding big time until Nick and crew came onto the seen. If you could only get a glimpse inside the program and all of the BS that happens daily that Anderson has to shield his players from, you would quickly realize that without Anderson, this program would have been Halifax County 2.0 10 years ago.Navy I appreciate you. Dude you're a joke. You're the main one always hyping us up at the beginning of every season, then turn on us when we don't get it done. I personally hate the Cowboys but at least they're faithful to their team. You are a fair-weather GW "fan" at best, known for making dumb comments. Stick to Tunstall basketball big dog.Danville Delusion Disorder:
1. Nick Anderson Show in July/“We’re gonna be a good team”
2. Loses to all of the best OOD teams on the schedule/morale victories.
3. Have 2-3 breakout games against teams in the worst district in the state.
4. Delusions you have a shot at Salem
5. Maybe win a playoff game if you get a top 3 seed against a weaker opponent.
6. Get embarrassed in the game that matters/blame the officials.
7. Next year will be our year.
Worst than Cowboy fans 😁
GW sports and Tunstall basketball are both in the same boat.. Won’t do anything because of incompetent people in charge. People like you are the reasons great educators like me stay far far away from DPS and coming back to help. Check my track record and know who I am before you disrespect me and what I’ve done to help GW sports. Stick to your mediocrity and excuses. Go Eagles!Dude you're a joke. Sending Twitter shout outs ain't helping. You bring criticism and disrespect to yourself for always being a hypocrite. "Great educator" 😆 Everyone's a great educator in the more affluent ares of the state. Come back to the Ville and find out what you're really made of. Your positive reinforcement and classroom management techniques that work in the 804 don't work here. Carry on.GW sports and Tunstall basketball are both in the same boat.. Won’t do anything. I’ve sent multiple college coaches to Danville that brought offers with them. I don’t talk about what I do because I do it for the kids but if you want, I can brag a lot. I got time!!!!! That doesn't surprise me, that lady was nice but was time for her to go. And no I don't work at the school, I just speak from what I hear around the roulette table at the casino.I’ve sent multiple college coaches to Danville that brought offers with them. And actually…… Angela Hairston interviewed me personally and asked me to come but incompetent HR took to long to offer me (yes they offered me and for good money)..Big miss in Danville. If you’re who I think you are, I would’ve been your boss.
Is that supposed to be a diss at me? I’ll wait for your response for the facts I provided about myself above… I figured it would shut you up.That doesn't surprise me, that lady was nice but was time for her to go. No lol, I ain't got all day to sit on here. I could go digging for several examples of you ignoring facts during a VA Preps debate, but I digress. I was just giving you a little taste of what you were dishing out by making it personal. Go Eagles! Is that supposed to be a diss at me? Appreciate you bro. I’ve always chose to work at Title 1 schools. If it ain’t Title 1, I don’t want it. I was asked to work in Hanover, Prince William, Fairfax County at some of the best schools in the state. Humble flex bro. Miss Big Chambo. That’ll always be my home. Hoping to see you this basketball season. Gotta come see my guys Frasier, Lutz and Parks. Those are my brothers for life.@BoKnowsSports worked for CMS in a role similar to the one he's in now. Not an easy job. I feel like he cares a lot about the kids. You guys let him get to you too much.
You still never acknowledged my original post. You made an argument concerning Anderson that he can't and won't be able to take GW to the next level, I provided some facts about the coaching history which is pretty stout, yet no one has been able to take GW to the next level, which points to an underlying issue rather than coaching itself. And you just ignored it. You got owned by Chuck after the Martinsville game, and you ignored that too. See, you're being hypocritical again. Okay I'm out for real this time lol.Of course you don’t cause like a kick in the 🥜 sack, the TRUTH HURTS.

Only two coaches came from WF. The head coach/O. Coordinator and OL coach. But most of the remaining staff was shuffled around to new positions and responsibilities. The only coaches that didn't remain from the 2022 staff were Woody (HC/O. Coordinator), myself (D.Coordinator) and Lorenzo Smith (Jv D. Coordinator).Old WF staff
How long have you been following GW Caesar? My response here is not intended to bash Coach Anderson and as I said above the issues go deeper than any one coach, however, I have a difference of opinion on some of your observations. You just made the exact same argument against Anderson that people have been making against GW head football coaches since 1996.
