The Justices make the 320 mile journey to Bristol to take on the Bearcats

I don't think there is another intrastate matchup this year with a longer distance between two teams

These two played for the 2024 Class 2 boys basketball state title back in March (which of course JM won)

Luckily for Virginia High, Ty White doesn't coach football

Thoughts on the game? Will anyone from Richmond be coming?

Luckily he doesn’t recruit for football would be more appropriate 🤷‍♂️

Wow, I wonder why this matchup was booked? Was JM desperate to fill a slot? In reality, it will be good for those city boys to see a part of the state that 99% have probably never seen. I wonder what their travel plans are? You just have to believe they are staying overnight? Or at least they have a charter bus? By the time they stop a couple of times, they will be hard pressed to make the trip one way in 6 hours. Assuming the bus leaves Bristol at 10:00PM, that puts them arriving in Richmond at 4:00 am? And we though a two hour trip was extreme!!!???

Must be a really good basketball player in Bristol…🤷‍♂️

It won't be close. V-High will win big. TJ may decide not to even make the trip. They could very possibly come up with an excuse at the last minute. It wouldn't surprise me at all.

You meant to say JM, but what you say wouldn’t surprise me at all. And God help them trying to find opponents next year if they do drop out. Not much going for them already. They rarely win more than two games a season, so next to no rider points. Their reliability is questionable. They present no challenge for virtually any opponents. And lets face it, the way they recruit so they can trounce any and all teams in basketball doesn’t make them any friends.

LOL, other than you and I, there probably aren’t many on this board that know that Goose Pimple Junction is a real place.
😂 I agree. I hope the driver doesn't take a right at Abingdon and end up in Claypool Hill. I guess they could play Richland's if they do. May even be able to sleep in the Walmart parking lot. @DinwiddieProud, I used to take that route between 81 and 460.

Claypool Hill huh? You were getting close to somewhere that’s on my bucket list, Berke’s Garden.

I think there is a covered bridge out there around Claypool Hill? Maybe closer to Pounding Mill?

I hope those boys from JM will put their phones down a little and look out the bus windows. They will see things that will make them think they have traveled to another country.

Not much has changed over the years. Burkes Garden is a place everyone in Virginia should visit. A very beautiful place and no one would believe it’s in true Southwestern Va. several years ago there was a small Amish population there. Don’t know if they are still there. Roanoke sits on the fringe outer edges of Southwest Virginia. Hopefully Va High makes the return trip to Richmond next year. Those kids need to see the other side of the state.
