Massaponax will not have to deal with heavyweights on a weekly basis like Stone Bridge, Briar Woods, Tusky, or Braod Run so are they by default the #1 seed in 5a North because of a schedule where they will be favorites in every game? This concept was presented to me the other day and I believe this to be the case wholeheartedly. 5A North title travels through Spotsylvania!!

Massaponax plays in a good district and someone tends to beat or upset them most years, like Forge or North Stafford. We'll see what happens.
North Stafford has been down the previous two years as compared to the 2 before but are still a tough out and Forge has made noise in the playoffs especially 2 years ago when they upset Ocean Lakes. I mean Massaponax is according to some the class of the district so I was expecting a 10-0 romp like last season. I agree they can all beat each other possibly, but again with maybe one loss that still should wrap up the #1 seed. I doubt any of the aforementioned teams go undefeated or finish with only 1 loss. But hey maybe someone is just loaded and doing their thing. Can't wait to see it all play out.
Forge hasn't beat Massaponax since 2010, I believe. And they do not play each other this year. North Stafford always gives them a tough, competitive game, with North winning their fare share of the time. With that being said, I have been told Ponax has a couple transfers that are absolute game changers. I don't know it to be 100% correct, so I won't say any names. They could very well go 10-0 again this year and be the default #1 seed. They are known for their triple option offense and always being a top rushing team, but their Achilles heel is usually having an average (at best) passing game. Until they can develop a slightly better offensive attack, their state title hopes will fall one or 2 games short.
