Brookville was facing 4th and long from their own 9 yard line late in the 4th quarter trailing 16-14. Deep pass is tipped by Liberty DB and hauled in by Brookville RB Jason Carwile for a 43 yard gain. A few plays later they complete a 32 yard pass on 3rd down and then kcik a FG with 1 minute remaining to take the lead 17-16. Minutemen drive across midfield but a screen pass is dropped, was a lateral and Brookville DB scoops it up and runs about 60 yards for another score to make it 24-16. Credit to Brookville, that defense is very stout against the run, they held Smith/Carper to about 130 yards combined. Liberty gave up a couple long td runs to Myers in the first half. Outside of the two pass plays on that last drive, and the two td runs, Liberty's defense played as well as you could ask. That missed PAT after their last TD in the 2nd quarter ends up being huge. Could have played for OT had the game been 17-17. Good Luck to the Bees next week. Great careers for Austin Porter, Matt Smith, Danny Orange, Marckel Bonds, Jeff Ruff and a few others. Minutemen have young talent returning headed by Devin Carper, Isaiah Coles, Tyron Staples, Mason Wolk, Kyie Jones, Trayvon Lewis. Cupboard won't be empty but I really thought this was a year they could make a deep run.
