Essex and Sussex meet in week one so it won't take long to find out. I think they will play for the Region A championship in November as well

Essex 3 TD+ in opener. Region A championship game might be closer. Essex is going to be strong this year.

I know Essex keeps a good team but what makes them so strong next year? They lost some major parts to their puzzle. Do you think Jones makes that much of a difference?

Riverheads is number one untill they go down .
Galax will bounce back after the stumble they took .
Sussex will be more focused . Coach J will see to that .
Essex and GW will struggle due to young players .
C Beach could make some noise . they are well coached jmo

The Colonial Beach coach is no longer there. Essex returns the bulk of their team from last year including all of their skill players. 0nly 8 seniors were lost but also DE Adarious Jones transferred to Bishop Sullivan. The key for Essex will be the quarterback play. If Tamaje Jones can step in and play well then that will allow them to keep KJ Dameron at his natutal position of running back and also allow Tim Johnson and Terrell Hundley to remain at wr where they will be a nightmare for dbs. A lot of its I know. Essex definitely should be in the hunt as they are very talented but it will all depend on the quarterback position in my opinion.

I will admit to having hometown bias, and I do believe RH is top dog until proven otherwise. And I am sure Galax will be ready to play this year, along with Sussex. But Essex will rank right up there with the top teams in the state. They return 3/5 of their Oline with some good guys waiting to get their shot, plus all of their skill guys. Tim Johnson will have 4 years experience as a starter on the varsity level, KJ Dameron and Terrell Hundley are on their 3rd years. They are the big three, but many guys have grown bigger, stronger, and faster. Essex took their lumps last year, but those young guys became battle tested. I think Tamaje Jones will do fine running the offense well enough. The overall team speed will be through the roof. I may be wrong, but I doubt it. Other than Sussex, I don't see anyone slowing them down much in Region A. Just my bias two cents.
