They're doing a really good job on #4 Ross, the leading scorer for NKCherry is killing New Kent, he a very aggressive player.
I believe Hopewell and New Kent will play again, Hopewell should win Tuesday at home and I believe New Kent will beat Meridian on the road.Hopewell 73 New Kent 65 Final. Well played game. Hopewell is as advertised. Size and athleticism. They will definitely be in the hunt for the state championship. Credit to New Kent too. Despite being tremendously undersized, they battled all night and didn't back down. New Kent will travel to undefeated Meridian next, while Hopewell will host William Monroe.
I've seen Meridian play, and they are a very good team. I do think New Kent matches up well with them. In fact, they're fairly similar teams.I believe Hopewell and New Kent will play again, Hopewell should win Tuesday at home and I believe New Kent will beat Meridian on the road.
They did a really good job on #4 Ross. He got a couple late ones, but they made it difficult. #24 has been the leading scorer the last few games and was again last night. #35 is 6'7 and the only guy with height on the team. He played well when he came into the game. He's only a freshman, and I think he could really develop into a special player.Watching the game last night Hopewell did a great job at containing New Kent three point shots, of course they made alot but that's what they do. If New Kent had some inside post players scoring they'd be hard to beat with the three point shooting they've.
Future looks good for New Kent, Hopewell returns all its starters except Coleman the other guard. But the JV team went 18-1. So I think next year they'll make a another run .They did a really good job on #4 Ross. Yeah Hopewell should be the favorite again next season. NK loses 2 key players in leading scorer Ross and it's most well rounded player in Diggs. Look for Marty Wray to up his scoring even more next year, as he has unbelievable range and can get to the basket. Their other two starters return as well and both are capable of scoring 20 points on any given night. I'm also curious to see the off-season development of their 6'7 freshman Hathaway. If he can hit the weight room, he could really take his game way up. As for the JV team, they finished 16-3 this year and I hear they have a couple really good players on there as well.Future looks good for New Kent, Hopewell returns all its starters except Coleman the other guard.
