For a player headed to a
top-ranked ACC school, Norfolk Collegiate's Donte Hill may be the least
publicized prospect in the state.

As a junior, Hill averaged 20 points,
eight rebounds and seven assists per game while making the VIS All-State team.
this year, he's had to do more than stuff the stat books. "I had to embraced the
leadership role," said Hill. "I wasn't as vocal in the past. It's been great
having that responsibility. I have great teammates and this season
has been a lot of fun."

The Oaks face their biggest contest of
the year when they travel to face rival city school Norfolk Christian. I win by
Norfolk Collegiate over the first place Ambassadors will put them in a
first place tie in the TCIS. The Oaks have played well after the Christmas
break winning seven straight after a mid-January loss to Atlantic Shores.

Hill believes his team's experience will be the difference between a win
and loss. "We have so many seniors and we know what it feels like to play
in big games," he said.

The game also features a matchup between
3-star recruit Hill and Norfolk Christian star James McAdoo--one of the top
rated recruits in the 2011 class. The game may decide who wins the TCIS Player
of the Year award. "He's very talented," Hill said of McAdoo. "I look
forward to playing against him on Thursday. We need to come out and play our
game."

A Norfolk Collegiate player has won the TCIS Player of the Year
award the past three years. "I feel I'm definitely in the running. We have
underachieved the past couple of years," said Hill who has yet to win a state
playoff game. "I'm real happy with where we are. We want to make it to the state
championship and leave out as a winner."
