This week's games:

Sherando (4-0) @ Jefferson, WV (3-0)
Millbrook (3-1) vs. Woodgrove (3-1)
James Wood (3-1) vs. Hedgesville, WV (0-4)

Handley and Skyline have bye weeks.

How do you think the Winchester area teams fare this week, and for the rest of the season? Millbrook has a tough test at home this week against the Wolverines, who have been solid all year. Millbrook's only loss of the year was to Jefferson (WV) during week 1 by a score of 25-12. I'd say that the Pioneers have improved over the last couple years, but Woodgrove might be too much for them.

I'll take Woodgrove winning 38-20, with Millbrook keeping it interesting in the first half.

Sherando is playing at Jefferson tomorrow, and while the Cougars are undefeated I don't think they're in the same league as some of the other schools the Warriors have played this year. Jefferson is better than the likes of Washington (WV), but not close to the level of Martinsburg or Eastern View.

I think Sherando gives up some points, but they have too many weapons for the Cougars to handle. Warriors take the W 42-13.

James Wood faces off against Hedgesville (WV). Millbrook trounced the Eagles 59-7 earlier in the season, and I can't see this week being much kinder to them. Colonels win 61-13.

Very nice post! I agree with your picks. I will go with scores like this.

Millbrook 7vs. Woodgrove 42 . Woodgrove runs the ball well, and Millbrook is still working on run defense, although they are improved.
James Wood 56 vs. Hedgesville 7 Bishop might break the single game record for carries and yards for James Wood tonight. I say he has 44 carries for 385 yards.
Sherando 35 Jefferson 21 I am going with this score because there is always a considerable chance in West Virginia that Sherando will have 15 +'penalties for just being playing physical football. If Sherando shows up, this will be a blowout. this is usually the time of the season when things start clicking well on offense for the Warriors.

Handley and Skyline have bye weeks.

Well once the Warriors were allowed to play proper football, they blew the game open. Only Cougar touchdown came in garbage time. I nearly got the point differential right.

Big surprise of the week was Millbrook taking Woodgrove to 2OT and nearly pulling off the upset. Great game for the Pioneers. They're a very dangerous 3-2 team at this point in the season. Could easily see them finishing off the regular season at 7-3.

Wow---I said that early in the week and got drilled for it ....amazing

No need to get all feisty. I'm more than willing to admit when I'm wrong and eat the crow. Millbrook's better than I thought, just like you said in the other thread. I hope they win out until November 6th.
