OLD SCHOOL Backs

Previous Post about the best Running backs to play at Magna Vista, I'm curious to know who do everyone thinks is the best backs to have played at Drewrey Mason and Carver which those schools eventually merged to form Magna Vista. Lets say the top 3 from Drewry mason and Top 3 from Carver because I want to learn more from the Pillar schools. I don't know much about the old school but I'm curious.

I can only go back to late 80's for drewry mason, I think it was 1988 they went to state championship game and lost to central lunenburg. Full back was Stanley ziglar and qb was Lamont scales, not sure who tailback was. Imo Lamont scales is top athlete ever in ridgeway/spencer area, he went to wake forest and had a good career. There's a great video on YouTube of the semifinal game between drewry mason Spartans and Pennington gap, Stanley is #42 and scales is #7, also check out imo the best linebacker #34 Todd Applegate, I went to that game it was a great game.

Could be mistaken but in that film Stanley ziglar was only sophomore

Ask anybody in the Preston area of Henry Co who was the best back to ever come out of Carver or DM I'm sure they will tell you Talmadge Tanks, class of 75. He was a 3 sport star, played minor league baseball for a few years out of hs then went to Ferrum for 2 years then to Drake Univ. in Iowa to play football after his baseball playing days were over. He went to DM in the 8th grade but then went to Carver when they had school intergration in the early 70's. Heck he has a street named after him up in Preston, Tanks Prestige Ave.
