MC got off to a really slow start against 4A or 5A Orange Co. We trailed by 11 after 3 quarters. If not for Bryce Breeden, it would have been much worse. He finished with 15 points and carried MC for 3 quarters. Seth McLearen (12 pts) and Max Lohr (9 pts) really stepped it up in the 4th quarter. MC tied it up but a couple of turnovers and a boatload of missed free throws really hurt in the end. Next up is 3A William Monroe Friday.
I never like a loss but this was not a bad loss in that we could have won it, fought hard to get back in it, and almost overcame the significant size advantage of OC. This game, and the upcoming game at OC, will serve us well on down the road.
