Lee jumped out to an early 8 pt lead, but Coach Purdham-Page called a timeout to settle his boys down and it worked...Lee actually led most of the game, but teams were tied at the 1/2 25 all
Start of 3rd quarter, it was apparent that Lee was gonna get more physical with the Panthers, but the home boys kept their cool for the most part and there were times the officials let the rough play go to much displeasure from the home fans..at end of 3rd Page was down 1
Both teams began to trade baskets in the 4th and neither was able to take more then a couple pts. lead and the final minute was very intense as both teams refused to quit..Page had the ball with over 30 secs. remaining in regulation and worked the clock down to 12 secs and Tyler Williams put up a wide open trey that missed the mark...after a brief skirmish for the rebound and a held ball, possession went to Lee
After a Lee timeout it seemed the play had been set for #2 for Lee to make the game winning play, however, Page's Ryan Cave stripped the ball and heave up a desperate 1/2 court shot at the buzzer that just hit the back iron.
In the overtime, both teams traded baskets early and finally the Panthers with the hot shooting of Tyler Williams opened up a 7 pt lead with about a minute left...Page was able to pretty much break the full court pressure from Lee and held on for the win.
This was a very exciting game and well played by both teams...Lee had the height advantage clearly over the Panthers and that caused Page to miss alot of inside shots, but, the hot shooting of Tyler Williams throughout the game kept Page in it and actually was responsible for the most part for the victory...I would say Williams had around 30 pts tonight after setting a single game record for pts. last night(41)
My main concern was if the Panthers would have enough stamina to keep up in this game after last nights NBA style game, but, Purdham has these players in great shape and he subbed very well according to game situations..again, this was a great bball game that any fan would loved to have watched and in fact it seemed that most of East Rock's fans stayed and cheered on the Panthers after their win over Stuart's Draft.
Next up for the Panthers is an opening round regional game at Page against Clarke County next friday(2/19)
Page beat a very good R.E. Lee team and they seem to have all cylinders clicking at the right time
Also, I should add that Bradley Dovel for Page did a great job of handling the Lee pressure and kept his composure for the most part in a very physical game..if Page is going to make a deep run this was the type of game they are gonna see more of.

Williams had 28 last night according to our bookkeeper. So 69 in 2 nights isn't too shabby. And by the way, his name is Tylor....not calling you out, just informing.
