****UPDATE****UPDATE****UPDATE****UPDATE****UPDATE****UPDATE****UPDATE****

K J COOK finished in the 24th spot out of 50 throwers at the NEW BALANCE NATIONALS in Greensboro, NC on Saturday in the Shot-Put event with his best throw of the day coming in at 56'-6".. Now, this may not seem to be a BIG DEAL to most of you so to put into perspective, the 6' - 205 pound William & Mary commit is BETTER than half of all the Shot throwers in the NATION.. What does this mean for an 18 year old kid from a small city with a population of roughly 6,200 within the confines of Rockbridge County, in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains?? IT MEANS IT IS A PRETTY BIG DEAL!!! IT IS AN HONOR!!! And, IT IS ALSO AN OPPORTUNITY!!! IT IS HOPE, FOR ALL THOSE TO COME AFTER HIM!!! IT IS A CHANCE, AND THAT'S ALL ANY OF US CAN ASK FOR... A CHANCE!!! CONGRATULATIONS Mr. COOK and BEST OF LUCK TO YOU TODAY IN THE DISCUS COMPETITION... And as always, GO BLUES!! Stay tuned, I'll let you know as soon as I know... Competition is scheduled to start at 2 pm eastern time..

UPDATE....UPDATE....UPDATE....UPDATE....UPDATE....UPDATE....UPDATE....UPDATE....

SENIOR THROWER K J COOK HAD A ROUGH DAY ON SUNDAY IN THE DISCUS COMPETITION FINISHING OUT THE DAY WITH HIS BEST HEAVE OF 148' 6", RESTING HIM NEAR THE BOTTOM OF THE FIELD.. I BELIEVE (BUT NOT SURE AS THE FINAL RESULTS HAD NOT YET BEEN POSTED)HE FINISHED AROUND THE 30TH SPOT... THE WINNING THROW IN THE SHOT EVENT WAS A MOUNTAIN OF A SPECIMEN FROM PENNSYLVANIA WITH A THROW OF JUST A TICK OVER 76'!!! YES, I SAID 76'.. AND THIS IS HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR...... ALSO, THE WINNING HEAVE IN THE DISCUS EVENT WAS ANOTHER SENIOR STUD FROM ARIZONA WEIGHING IN AT OVER 300 POUNDS WITH HIS BEST HEAVE OF THE COMPETITION FALLING IN AT 220' 2 1/4"!!! YEAH, THAT'S NOT A TYPO, HE CHUNKED THE 1.6 KG SAUCER OVER 220 FEET.. SOME STIFF COMPETITION TO SAY THE LEAST... EITHER WAY IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE AND AN HONOR TO HAVE PARRY MCCLUER REPRESENTED BY COOK AND HIS ABILITIES.. WE WISH KJ WELL AT WILLIAM & MARY AND MAY HE DO GREAT THINGS..... SO, IT'S TIME TO WRAP UP THE SPRING/SUMMER SEASON AND MAKE THE MOVE TO THE "FALL" MESSAGE BOARD AS WE MOVE INTO THE 2017/18 FOOTBALL SEASON... BEST WISHES TO ALL AND AS ALWAYS, GO BLUES!!!!!
