Parry McCluer Throwers COOK ,FISCHER & NELSON rule 1A Conference 45 Championship Meet

Parry McCluer "BLUES BROTHERS" Throwers Senior, K J COOK, Junior, JOSHUA FISCHER and Senior, JEREMY NELSON continued to be the topic of discussion at the 1A CONFERENCE 45 CHAMPIONSHIP MEET in Radford on Thursday, May 18th.... COOK, staying consistent sealed the 1st place spot in both the Shot-Put (54'-1 1/2") and Discus events (163'-9") with PM team mate FISCHER staying close on Cooks heels in the Shot event he secured the 2nd place spot with a heave of (50'-10") also stepping up in the Discus competition with a nice throw of (139'-3"), just a click off of his person best of 140"-2 1/2"... PM Senior, Nelson notched the 3rd place spot in the Shot at (48'-5") and even though he had a *Personal Best* throw in the Discus event of (133'-5") which qualifies him for the upcoming 1A State Meet, Nelson came up just short of the Auburn thrower (133'-9") and finished in the 4th spot in the Discus competition spoiling the 1,2,3 finish for the "BLUES BROTHERS" in both events.. All three "BLUES BROTHERS" will return to Radford next Saturday, May 27th to compete in the 1A Regional Meet where they expect to see a little tougher challenge from other throwers... CONGRATULATIONS to these young men and BEST OF LUCK to you all next week!! GO BLUES!!!!

Ughhh, let's see.... "BLUES BROTHERS" 1 and 2, COOK and FISCHER still dominated in the Shot event, (no one even close) while NELSON, still struggling with his speed and rotation through the circle,(if and when he rotates) finished in the 4 spot respectively.. Although he's strong as a horse, Nelson has never really done much in the Discus so, it is what it is there... As far as the Discus event goes, if you were there and obviously paying attention, you saw COOK qualify for NATIONALS with his "Personal Best" throw of 178', and some change on his 2nd throw of the day.. His 3rd throw wasn't as far and he along with Nelson(if he made it) chose to forfeit their spot in the finals and headed back to the City for graduation ceremonies... Unfortunately, Fischer, as you must be aware of based on your sarcastic "poke", struggled in the Discus competition today and failed to make a mark in the event thus knocking him out of any further competition... It is what it is, no excuses.. Everyone, yuup EVERYONE has a bad day every now and then and that day was today for Fischer in the Discus competition.. It's done and over and hopefully he can move on and rebound for next weeks State Meet.. If not well, there's always next year(for Fischer that is).. In my "opinion", the "BLUES BROTHERS" have represented themselves, their community, the School, the District, the Conference and the Region respectively and they(I)will continue to recognize them accordingly as well others as I have done in the past, WIN or LOSE... So, not really sure what your point is about "what happened", the performances speak for themselves... I don't know "Jake", or in what context you are referring to about "getting out of prison".. So, please enlighten me on your use of "metaphorical pun".. Hope to see and chat with you at the State Meet.. Just ask anyone from PM for HRCMSTHBOOM, they'll point me out... Student Athletes need and will continue to be recognized and applauded for their accomplishments, yours(if you have a SA), mine and any others that take the initiative and self discipline to put in the time and work to be the best they can be, WIN or LOSE... That's part of what this site is all about and I welcome the opportunity to be able to "pat them on the back" in a public forum.. Am I proud of them, Damn Right, do I sometimes get "a little" carried away with putting them on a pedestal, Damn Skippy... Does it motivate the kids to continue to work harder and get better, to perform better and to compete to the best of their ability? THEY SAY IT DOES, so I will continue to do so, for all!! I hope you have a good Memorial Day weekend Sir/Ma'am and as always...... GO BLUE!!!
