Game we thought all along would be the areas final. We've already been scouting them for last 3 week's. They're lb's will give us fits. But if we get in the air early and often we just might keep their offense grounded. Should be our toughest test. I think will pass though. Looking forward to Lord bot.

I agree that it should be the best game of the playoffs for both teams.........but will reserve prediction until the final whistle............our boys are ready to play hard too

If your a Phoebus person you won't play Lord B unless in the finals, Phoebus if they win will play the lowest seed in west in final four

You're exactly right. LB is the highest remaining seed in the west. If memory serves me correct, #3 LB plays #7 Abingdon and #4 Magna Vista plays #8 Staunton River

As a Richlands fan i am pulling for Poquoson in this game and for the rest of the 3A playoffs. Was fortunate enough to meet some really good people from there when we played them in the state finals back in 2010. That was a heck of a game ! Good luck this week !

I understand where you are coming from but I think Phoebus just has way too much talent on both sides of the ball. I would be surprised if Poquoson kept it within 3 TD's. Not taking anything from them but Phoebus is the best in 3A. IMO

Somebody just get on here and update game stats ,so those of us stuck at home can chanell the thrill of being there11111~~~~~!!!!!!!

Why they can only attempt to cover passes against speeder guys. Their best hope is to make their running game work and out Phoebus Phoebus ,but lack of speed dispelles that idea.

Poquoson gave us an early xmas present. We flat out lost this game. Their lbs swallowed my boy. But luck was on our side ans we get to live another day. Best game i've seen all season. Congrayz to Poq. We'll try to represent.

Great game Poquoson-outplayed Phoebus but lost in ot. BRD is Not dismal in football like LT 99 says.
Bay Rivers has produced some great teams and tremendous talent. Lafayette produced the world's best linebacker period. Mel Gray redefined punt returning. I think some fans are living on history. Coach Dee, Coach Sexton and many former players that won those titles are gone. There is a new head coach. This is a new generation of players. All things are equal when the game starts. Good job Poquoson.

I really enjoyed this game. Tray Hamlin put Phoebus on his back.

In my opinion the coach's game plan has been terrible this whole playoffs. He seems to literally be waiting for the other team to strike first to get a comeback out of his boys. Time to step it up this week forreal and get back to the state title game, been way too long.

Islanders, you garnered a great deal of respect for yourselves, and the BRD in general. It was a heck of a game - right up there with the most memorable ones Poquoson has ever played. Comparable in excitement with the 2003 regional final against York, and of course, the state championship game against Richlands. Thanks for the memories!

Bay Rivers has produced some great teams and tremendous talent, but I 'm reasonably sure that both the world's best linebacker and Mel Gray played for Lafayette, when it was in the Peninsula District. I think Lafayette moved to the Bay Rivers District around 1997. The athletes you mentioned played for Lafayette during the Late 1970s

Yes you are right. I was just mentioning them as examples of the type of players that came from the area. I think with the phenomenal success of Hampton and more recently Phoebus, fans forget about Williamsburg, Yorktown and Poquoson. The fact that 14 years after Phoebus won their first title they are still being talked about is kind of cool. The learning curve in football has flattened out. It is going to be harder to go 3-4 years without losing and winning 4 straight titles. Teams from way out west can compete much better now. One reason is they have been forced to and another is that you can't expect one school to have all the horses any longer.

How does the Phoebus team of this year compare to the past championship teams?

Wow, that's tough. I remember watching the Adibis, Womack, Elan Lewis, Brown and a few others bk in the day. I remember Ronald Curry and his Crabber teams battling Phoebus. I just remember the dominant teams from bk then. I hv been away from the 757 about 5 years now. I know Lake Taylor has been THAT team the past few yrs.
