Before all the big games this week coming up, and next few weeks, with a few weeks of play completed, what is everyone's thoughts on Finalists for each Region?

I'll start.

A: (1) Poquoson vs (2) Goochland

B: (1) Central Woodstock vs (2) East Rockingham

C: (1) Appomattox vs (3) Gretna

D: (1) Union vs (3) Richlands

I might substitute Graham or Ridgeview for Richlands or even Union for Region D.

If we gonna go with the final game and Champion prediction, I will go with Central and Appo in the title game with Central pulling the upset. Central is being overlooked a little by some in my opinion because they were taken out a round before everyone thought they would go out last year.

A: Poquoson vs Goochland

B: Central Woodstock vs Robert E. Lee-Staunton

C: Appomattox vs Glenvar

D: Union vs Richlands

Hard to not include Gretna or Graham. Either team would reach the region final in A or B, but that's the way the map goes. Richlands will be much better by year's end and will win a rematch with Union. A Central-Poquoson semi-final is nearly a done deal, IMO unless they have changed the bracketing. Probably going to be Central-Appo in Salem and I think this might be Central's year to dethrone the Raiders. KW, I'm watching you.

Did Central add any games for 9/7, 9/14, or 9/21 to fill their schedule? I see the master schedule only shows 8 games.

Appo vs. Glenvar / Poquoson vs. Goochland / Richlands vs. Union / Lee vs. Central
Leaning toward Lee but have not seen E. Rock play yet. Lee has a really good offense. Defense needs some work but will improve.

Yes, but I think he was meaning that Gretna or Graham was good enough to reach the finals in Regions A and B, but not in their own regions.
Region D is down overall this season in my estimation. Hopefully the top teams will continue to develop and improve the rest of the way, so they can compete come playoff time.

I'm not sure what to make of it. Richlands O is much better, but D and line play is not as good as last year.

Graham has the athletes and playmakers, but needs line work.

Union has a strong running game and at least the threat of a pass this year, but D is not as strong and secondary is weak.

Ridgeview is a complete unknown to me. Best team they've faced in a game or scrimmage is 1A Chilhowie and all reports indicate that was a stalemate.

Like you said, hopefully someone will get things together and emerge as a title contender by the semifinals.
