Tayvion Land Junior Defensive back Bishop Sullivan

Land made several pays none better than the interception just before halftime. Land adjusted his coverage reading the quarterback and he came from center field to jump the route for an interception. He got in to perfect position to leap for a two-handed pick and he made some nifty moves during the short return. Land also forced the Patriots to attempt their 1st field goal after bone-crushing hit caused the receiver to drop the football on 3rd-and-goal from the 6-yard line.

Teradja Mitchell Senior Linebacker Bishop Sullivan

The Ohio State commit was all over the field, as expected, and he had a couple explosive hits. He made elays near the line of scrimmage as well as plays in the secondary. His deflected pass led to an tip interception by Nehki Meredith which led to the Crusaders only touchdown and he displayed his man coverage downfield in the passing game. He charged into the backfield for a tackle for loss late in the 4th quarter. Mitchell finished with six tackles and one tackle for loss.

Dante Burke Senior Defensive End Bishop Sullivan

Burke applied pressure throughout the game and his strip/sack of American Heritage quarterback Cameron Smith led to a turnover inside the American Heritage 30-yard line which at the time seemed to be a game-changing play. The senior who is committed to Rutgers lost some of his effect on the game when American Heritage started running more inside.

Tyler DeSue Senior Quarterback Bishop Sullivan
Duel-threat quarterback was able to move the ball between the twenty's but the drives stalled inside the redzone thanks to some outstanding plays by the American Heritage defense. DeSue, a University of Maryland commit, was under pressure all night but still totaled over 200 yards passing going 14 of 26 from the air with 177 passing yards while adding 42 yards rushing on 12 carries.

Jake Low Junior Running Back Bishop Sullivan
Jake Low was tasked with the primary task of taking over as the featured back from Florida State running back Khalan Laborn and although he is not at Laborn's skill level, he performed well gaining 70 yards on 14 carries while adding 47 yards on four receptions. Low was physical through the gaps often breaking tackles for extra yards. He is hard to bring down and he gained additional yardage on the first drive after running into a brick wall in Andrew Chatfield. On one series, he seemed to break away from a pileup however the referee blew the whistle prematurely. Low powered his way for the only Crusader touchdown before leaving the game in the 4th quarter due to injury.

Altrique Barlow Sophomore Offensive Lineman Bishop Sullivan
It appear Bishop Sullivan made their biggest gains on the same side as sophomore offensive lineman Altrique Barlow who already has a scholarship offer to Auburn University. Barlow will have the opportunity to hone his craft against D1 commit Dante Burke as well as Ohio State commit Teradja Mitchell everyday in practice.

Others
Sheridan Jones
had a great game with four tackles, a pass breakup and picking off 1 of 3 interceptions by the Crusaders secondary. Sophomore Nehki Meredith had an interception while Bennie Merritt seem to be in the right place at the right time recovering two fumbles including one at the Crusaders 1-yard line.
