Game Recap Quantico Leaves No Doubt

Quantico Military High School proved their undefeated start to the season was no fluke by defeating a 2015 playoff team Richmond Christian on the road by a final count of 15-6. Quantico led 13-6 at halftime and then turned the game over to their defense which recorded a safety while not letting the host Warriors to cross midfield. The visitors forced four turnovers.

Quarterback Jack Kelley led Quantico Military on a 7-play, 61-yard drive which capped off with a 1-yard touchdown run. with 5:59 to go in the 1st quarter. Senior Caleb Hall carried 12 times for 128 yards but his best run was a 75-yard touchdown run with 3:32 to go before halftime that gave the visiting Warriors a 13-0 lead.

The key to the second half was field position and the Quantico special teams played a big factor in holding Richmond Christian scoreless after the halftime break. Jalen Williams deflected a punt attempt to give Quantico great field position and punter Enrique Ferreira kicked a ball near the endzone that Matt Bianca and Anthony Tarver downed inside the 1-yard. Ferreira and Michale Stuckey combined for the safety for a 15-6 lead.

Richmond Christian's next two possessions ended with interceptions by Victor Diaz and Kris Lofgren. Ferreira had another punt downed inside the 10-yard line forcing a quick 3-and-out. Richmond Christian had only 48 yards of offense in the second half.

Richmond Christian only points came with a minute to go before halftime. Quarterback Stephen Swiney completed passes of 26-yards and 33-yards to junior Antonio Jones before finding Jones in the middle of the Quantico defense for a 3-yard touchdown score.
