Bobcats got off to a solid start against an undermanned Giles team. Cam and Gavin Cormany both hit multiple 3 pointers to lead the Bobcats. Alex Kanipe led a strong performance defensively inside helping to hold the Spartans to 2 first half points. Bobcats had several freshman get solid playing minutes. It was streamed on Facebook and allowed 1 parent per player to attend.

Saying Giles boys basketball is undermanned is being very kind. I believe they have lost 42 games in a row now. I've lived in Giles a while and can see clearly for sports the balance of power has shifted to Narrows...and the football program is looking very lean to say the least.

Radford isn't a very tall team and it looked like the Giles game plan was to get the ball inside to Dunford who was the tallest on the court. The guards had a tough time doing that between the pressure from the Radford guards and Kanipe fronting Dunford. I know Giles had more success scoring against Floyd.

As for a change in balance, it is interesting to see that shift. I know in football, Narrows had a really strong rec team a few years ago for what would be in high school now. I was told many of those kids quit playing.
