Perhaps the biggest Region A championship game in years. In most years it feels like it's been a forgone conclusion that Essex would win the region (With the exception of the spring Covid year, when they didn't play). But this year's game is going to be another war, like their regular season game. I'll add my 2 cents as the game gets closer, but what's everyone else's thoughts? Will Rapp win again or will Essex once again become the kings of Region A?

Essex looked dominant in their game last night however Rappahannock seemed to go through lapses in intensity throughout their game. They will have to play much better next week!

Coaching and the proper adjustments win this one for the Trojans, by 2 scores. The running back for middlesex. who was OPOY, couldn’t do anything last night against the Essex defense.

Griffin is a one man show for Middlesex. He's the only one a team needs to stop. Middlesex had a very inflated record from having more cupcakes than Hostess

Middlesex was the 6th seed, correct. So, not too surprising Essex won. The final margin might have been a little surprising. I thought Rappahannock looked really good last night. By the end of the first quarter they were firmly in control. Maybe they took the foot off the gas a little at times to save some for the next game. Whether it was taking the foot off the gas or lapses, they still put 50 on Westmoreland. I'm taking Rappahannock.

I think Essex wins the region again. They have the experience, coaching, and talent. Rapp has been lights out this season but playing after thanksgiving is tough, especially when your not doing it year in and year out.

I think playing when you aren't used to playing is more a factor when you are playing an uncommon opponent. That's when the magnitude of the game/the situation gets to a team sometimes. Since this is a game between two schools from the same district who's players know each other very well, it will be like any other game they play. Rapahannock gets to play at home too. Essex is only coming from a few miles away across the river, but it's still a positive for Rappahannock. It will be a hard fought game between two big NND rivals!

I don't think those kids will allow playing after Thanksgiving to be a factor. The Rapp kids are all playing for a much bigger purpose after losing two beloved people in their community. Should be a great game. Pulling for Essex but it's going to be tough one!

Yeah I don't think it's close they've beaten Westmoreland 3 times and Essex struggled to get by them once from what Ive seen. I think Essex goes down in heartbreaking fashion.

Sounds like a win the trenches win the game kinda deal for this one or which team can get to the edge or get the edge rush. Didn’t get a chance to watch either team this year but the first game was close I would expect this one to be closer for giggles and laughs I would say 13-13 goes to overtime and I think Rapp has one of my former travel team players kicking for them so he kicks the game winner in OT

I would love to watch this game. If feels to me like Strasburg and Riverheads in Class 2. The feeling for me at least is/was Strasburg was the more complete team coming into the football game, but Riverheads has been there and done that for over a decade in big games and big moments. Would the moment be too big for Strasburg? The moment wasn't too big for Strasburg and they were full throttle and loose from start to finish.

Same for Rapp. Feels like they are the more complete team this year, but they are up against a battle-tested deep playoff run machine in Essex. Will the moment be too big for Rapp or do they get the W like Strasburg did?
