The 2014 season has been an exciting one and now the conclusion week is expected to be just as thrilling. Here is an outlook of what to expect for Thursday and Friday's games.

The battle between Sussex Central and Surry County may come down to defensive performance. Edge...Surry County.[/B]

SURRY COUNTY (8-1) at SUSSEX CENTRAL (7-2)[/B]
After last week Surry proved that they are a lot tougher than their schedule by almost defeating Brunswick. Now they have to try to win in a place they haven't since their winning string of dominance in the late 90s. The Sussex-Surry Classic is always an intense match up but this game can really change the landscape of the playoffs. Sussex Central can trade places with the Cougars and end up as high as the 5th seed while Surry could jump Parry McCluer if bonus points go right. Timothy Marsh Jr. will be looking to have a big night. Churrio Scott or the Tigers will need to run strong as the Cougar defense will make Sussex play their best offensive performance in order to win this time.

PREDICTION: Surry County 28 Sussex Central 20 OT[/I]

WASHINGTON & LEE (8-1) at COLONIAL BEACH (7-2)[/B]
The Eagles got a reality check last week as they encountered a deficit they couldn't recover from. Now the emotions become more intense with rival Colonial Beach looking to pull off the upset. The Drifters will be hoping for sophomore Lamar Lucas to be able to get his team rolling. Treshaun Brown will be expecting for better execution in order to go into the playoffs with plenty of confidence and motivations. Andrai Turner can be a more of a task for the Drifters to deal with. It should be a battle to the very end as both teams look to improve or lock of their playoff position.

PREDICTION: Washington & Lee 20 Colonial Beach 12[/I]

FRANKLIN (3-6) at SOUTHAMPTON (3-6)[/B]
This season may not have went the way either Franklin or Southampton had planned but they have a chance to renew their image soon in the playoffs. Both squads have improved tremendously over the past several weeks, especially Franklin. The Broncos have done everything possible to make them a dangerous team. Coach Darren Parker has all the right players at that right spots now but one thing he can't change is size. Southampton has a huge line, a dynamic back, and a very athletic defense. This should be one of their most intense match ups.

PREDICTION: Franklin 24 Southampton 21[/I]

CHARLES CITY (3-6) at WEST POINT (4-5)[/B]
The Panthers will be trying to get the sour test out of their mouths from last week's upset lost to Mathews. Coach Steward Greene's young team will need to step up if they plan on moving up in the seeding as they trail the Pointers. West Point will need to get their offense rolling which has been an adventure all season. AJ Jones and Montel Allen must hit the hole harder versus one of the faster teams in their district. Charles City has struggled stopping the run most of the season and look for them to have to step up on defense in order to win this match up.

PREDICTION: West Point 30 Charles City 26[/I]

OTHER REGION A PREDICTIONS[/B]

King William 62 King & Queen 0
Brunswick 42 Greensville 21
Windsor 24 Park View 20
Essex 41 Rappahannock 6
Lancaster 35 Northumberland 24
Mathews 28 Middlesex 14
[/I]

EXTRA POINT[/B]
The best scenario for Region A is for Washington & Lee to win Friday night and Essex to do so as well. This will likely secure the #1 and #2 seeds. Essex would also like it if Mathews delivers would a victory over Middlesex. Surry County could go up to #4 but the chance isn't very great. Also, the Cougars are playing at a place they haven't won at since 1998. Franklin may be seeing one of their district foes in the first round. Either Sussex or Surry if the projections hold true. The Broncos won't be an easy draw as they are ready to extend their season.
