As predicted, Joe Reed has transferred from Randolph Henry for his senior year. Great kid, great family, best of luck to him.
Where did he go ?As predicted, Joe Reed has transferred from Randolph Henry for his senior year. Great kid, great family, best of luck to him.
Does he plan to reclass or not? Sounds like Fuqua will be stronger in both football and baseball. He is by far a better baseball player. I hope he has a shot to play both at UVA.Heading to Fuqua for his final year.
I have seen him beat out routine grounders to second base. If he hits a single, opposing coaches might as well call it a double. He steals on the next pitch and it is VERY rare that he gets thrown out. He will help UVA out in both sports if they allow him to play both. He and buddy C. Blackman (Glen Allen) both are recruited to play WR, and both can contribute to the baseball team.I hope he just plays baseball at UVA.
Is there some benefit in this move for him?Heading to Fuqua for his final year.
I would agree with you that under the circumstances there is no real reason for him to leave now. Again, how does it help him. New coach at RH, but it would be a new coach for him at Fuqua.Well, good news.....several guys from keysville tell me he is staying at Randolph henry. Really at best would be lateral move to go to fuqua. Already has committed to uva. Really nothing to gain, only less competition. Would win a few more games in football playing lackluster private school schedule. Nothing against fuqua, but it is what it is
Moving to a whole new school would be a greater change. He really feels baseball is a "hobby"? Wow, then there is no reason for UVA baseball to consider him as some posters have indicated. Don't get me wrong, I hope he is successful in whatever he chooses to do.He loves football...baseball is his hobby. Is he a stout football player too. Plenty of benefit in this move for him. Much better move than staying at RH with another new football coach and all the new changes at RH, which was a factor in the move.

I heard it the other way around a few years back. The first time I saw him play he was in 8th grade. At that time I was told (by an inside source) he was like the Hicks kid from Goochland. Baseball was his love, and football was a hobby. But he would excel at both. Hicks could have played for UVA in football and probably contributed, but chose to play baseball and is now getting paid to play. Good luck to Joe in the future. He loves football...baseball is his hobby. Is he a stout football player too. Plenty of benefit in this move for him. Great athlete, no doubt. I agree about baseball and I also have seen him play both over the course of his career in the county and at R-H.I have seen him play both sports. I think he has better future in baseball.
The source > Guys from Keysville
Really don't know why he would have thought Fuqua would be a better move. After participating in 7 on 7 and going to Fuqua camp, changed his mind and returned to RH.
lateral move at best and would have to give up Baseball at RH which should be a strong team again this spring.....Really don't know why he would have thought Fuqua would be a better move.
HR, I'm just glad to see the young man is smart enough to choose UVA over that secondary school in Bleaksburg!!!He should give up football at UVA and focus on baseball.
Looks like guys from keysville > your source.
Glad to see him back at RH and not at a private school.
Are you saying he actually enrolled at Fuqua, then went back to RH?Dummy...The source was the family itself. He left RH. Then returned.
No, you disrespected the "guys from keysville". They were right, and you were wrong. Face it, you are the worst of the worst. You think you know it all, but know nothing.
This is funny. Sounds like someone's feelings are hurt. The guys from Keysville weren't the source in the beginning, and trust me, they don't know it all either.
No question about that, though last year that wasn't the case.Key to scoring touchdowns is put ball in hands of best playmaker.
