Another week and not much has changed in regards to the playoff picture for the Richmond Region schools playing in 6A-South. Here are the pairings concerning these teams...
#7 Cosby at #2 Thomas Dale
#5 Forest Park at #4 Manchester
I've been keeping track over the last four weeks now as to the movement of these teams...
Thomas Dale has been a #2 seed for four weeks, even after their loss this past week to Meadowbrook.
Cosby has bounced between a 6th and 8th seed for four weeks.
Manchester spent two weeks as the 3rd seed and the last two weeks as the 4th seed.
Thomas Dale hosts Hopewell and travels to Matoaca in the final two weeks. Get by Hopewell and I believe it to be smooth sailing and a hold on the two spot.
Cosby has George Wythe this week(win) and Manchester in the finale... That finale will be huge for both of them but it's safe to say that Cosby should be in the playoffs between that 6th and 8th spot that they have bounced around between. Certainly they will be on the road to open the playoffs.
As for Manchester, it won't be an easy two weeks for the Lancers with Monacan this week and Cosby to close out the regular season. The Lancers have been as high as the 3rd seed and if the Lancers beat both they could get back to that but anything short of that, I believe them to stay put in the 4th seed and have at least one home playoff game.
