In this week's rankings there was quite a bit of movement, not just in the Top but all over. Do keep in mind when looking over the rankings… First and foremost, records count… I will not rank anyone above another who has a lesser record, no matter who they played or how difficult their schedule was. From that point, I use a multitude of different criteria to come out the way you see them. Keep in mind as well, by the end of the season; the rankings always work themselves out… They have never failed me in 14 years of doing this.

Now let's talk ratings and more importantly the playoffs…

3A East
The same teams are still in as of right now but the seeding has changed quite a bit thus giving us some new matchups…

Armstrong is 4-0 but dropped one spot to 4th this week. That would pit them against #13 Culpeper.

Colonial Heights continues to fall after their 2-0 start and drops to 11th this week. That would pit them on the road against #6 Kettle Run.

Hopewell fell from 4th to 7th this week and would still get a home game and would face #10 Skyline.

Huguenot clings to the #15 spot for a second week and would have to travel to Fredericksburg to take on #2 James Monroe.

Petersburg moves up from 12th to 9th, our only climber in 3A and would go on the road in a rematch of last year's playoff game against Poquoson!

4A East
4A is a little more interesting than 3A in the fact that one team fell out from last week… That team being JR Tucker. That brings the total of schools from the 4A to 3 in the Richmond Region.

Dinwiddie moves up to 10th from 12th last week and they would go on the road, up 95 to a familiar foe in #7 Hanover! That's right boys and girls, that great Division 5 Central Region rivalry that we could look forward to each November would be back.

Monacan would be in the playoffs as well of course, they rank in at the 4th spot moving up from 6th of last week. They would be at home against #13 Tabb as of right now.

5A South
Patrick Henry
is out this week, they would not qualify for the 5A North playoffs but there is a lot of jostling in 5A South…

Atlee fell from 4th to 6th this week and would have to go to Hermitage who dropped from 1st to 3rd. The big mover this week was Highland Springs climbing from 5th to 2nd, they would be hosting #7 Douglas Freeman in a rematch of the 1980 Central Region Final. Bird reclaims top spot moving from 2nd to 1st and they would have Prince George who dropped from 7th to 8th in this weeks ratings. Then there is Manchester and Henrico… The Lancers would be the home team, dropping from 3rd to 4th this week and they would face the Warriors who moved up one spot from 6th to 5th.

6A South
Last week 6A had just two Richmond Region teams, this week they have three as Varina moves back in grabbing the 8th spot, moving from 10th. The Blue Devils would be on the road at #1 Cosby who retains that top spot. As for Thomas Dale, they made the move from 8th to 5th with their win over Hopewell and would still be on the road, this time at #4 Woodbridge.
