Don’t have a Instagram to verify this or not but that is pretty confident by those sherando kids to take over a 757 Instagram if that is true. Wonder what their coach would have to say about that?
Sports in general have gotten more into trash talk culture. Hate seeing it.
Salem still has to wear unbranded white sox at least two inches above their ankle braces and have to wear black ankle braces/ black cleats.
Not saying every player is perfect or every salem player has always been humble. But I like from an institutional level with the coaches pushing uniformity. It’s not about dunking on anyone else, it’s about winning with your team. No one is a superstar. No dancing in the end zone, etc has been historically enforced by the coaches.
Not saying you can’t find instances in salems history where 14-17 year old boys have not lived up to the expectations the coaching staff has for their players, but glad Salem tends to take that seriously. Maybe I am ignorant but seeing how the kids handle themselves on the field makes me feel it is still the case
No individuals, it’s a mindset
Felt like more teams had that respect for eachother back in the day. Still remember some of the guys I battled against. Hated them on the field but game respected game.
How are coaches dealing with how kids engage in this connected world? They have increasing access to communicating online with the opposition and their fan bases than ever before. Do coaches ignore it, do some others embrace it? With so many kids with varying access to the internet, I’m sure it’s hard to enforce all inappropriate trash talk online. What is too far?
